  1. Firstly, the comment was not personal so relax. Secondly. I don't make "blanket" statements. So far, all rogue states who purchase arms, tend to purchase Russian designed equipment as there are fewer export restrictions on these compared to NATO equipment. There are plenty of legitimate countries who also use Russian designed equipment, often because it is more cost effective for their economies compared to NATO equipment, a "more bang for your buck" approach. Welcome to posting! Translating your thoughts from French to English can be challenging. We are glad you decided to try. I would rather the Lady M and Megaroad question remain a mystery, but I have a feeling it will be answered in the Manga series. Right now it is hard to say if a movie or another season will be made.
  2. LOL! The ole bait and switch. Get eyes on the TV by implying they'll see a SDFM hero from the Megaroad and not deliver... Well we've learned in this series that the Megaroad 01 is no longer lost and one of its former occupants runs the Xaos Group. I'm somewhat satisfied with that. Keep the mystery alive as long as possible, however I have a terrible feeling THAT will all be explained in the manga series'. So many dangling story threads you could have a tassel. The Windy's owned Xaos for 25 episodes and NOW they cave, with an Uber PC ship in their yard?? Xaos didn't even have the benefit of the NUNS fleet as back up even, So where the hell was Johnson's tactical expertise hiding all this time? How were they able to land any forces on Ragna without a general scramble alert being sounded? Wasn't Ragna still under Windy control? The Elysion riding the water like a GERWALK valk was new, but all the rest of it's moves were recycled from previous shows. Though for a ship that is well over a km high, it is pretty damn agile.... Still like the ship though. It's a fitting update to the Macross warship design. The battle damage was very SDFM in appearance. Why? I dunno. Did the SV get destroyed at all? We saw the projector destroyed, but IIRC it was positioned above an antenna on Ragna, was it not? So where did Mirage suddenly pull this flying confidence out from? When I saw inside the PC projector, I thought "Is that chair for Mikumo?" A flashback to M2 came to me, then hem-Roid sat in it. I cannot be the only one seeing the "borrowing" from Mac 2 in this series. From the projection chamber to the striping on Mikumo, to the use of song to enslave sentient beings, very curious. So were the Windy's always meant to control this projector? Hem-Roid stuck his runes into the sockets like they were designed for them... If some sort of probes came out of those sockets, then you could consider otherwise. BTW, I wonder how many pilots crashed when they were in this music induced ether Roid got them stuck in? They spent 4 episodes filled with talking heads and I still don't care about these characters. We got some cool universe building, but not a lot of character development. Unfortunate. In response to why wasn't Windermere destroyed? Well if they were a metaphor for Nazi Germany (or Imperial Japan), then all they needed to be was soundly defeated. With their economy in jeapardy due to their independence (still never fully explained) and their only ally Epsilon abandoning them, they are in for some hard times ahead. Of course there are also all the worlds in the region really pissed off at them right now too. Epsilon Corporation and Galaxy for that matter, may begin to play greater rolls in subsequent productions. Epsilon built the support fleet for the Macross Galaxy and Windermere as well as they build "SV" type variable fighters, which are not officially sanctioned by NUNS. They are filling a niche market of customers who do not want to be beholden to the NUNG in any way (like how rogue states tend to buy Russian armaments instead of NATO ones). Now armed with data collected from the Sigur Valens, they may be able to gain an edge over the NUNS Federal arms programs. Galaxy plays fast and loose with the law so anything is possible with them. Gave this one a negative vote after a series of neutrals (I am hoping the subs will improve my opinion). The mecha action was overdue and it was too easy for Xaos to succeed in this grand battle. I knew this would be an idol sing off, but they didn't even try to tie up all the loose ends. The bait and switch was insulting to all the fans of any age. Kawamori should have stuck to his guns on the 1 cour and a movie plan and promised a second movie instead. Perhaps then the story of Delta would have been tighter and more precise. It would have given him some time to devise a new story for the second movie in the meantime. However, if he was already in talks with the Chinese for his new series, he may not have wanted to commit any more time to this show than he already had. The irritating thing is that with the subs on the BD releases, I have to buy them all I can't let a good thing (English subs) go unrewarded...
  3. The Joke aside, it is speculated that humans living in space would remain younger looking and likely live longer since one of the chief aging catalysts on Earth is the radiation from our sun. Take that agent away and humanity could conceivably live for a very long time and look relatively youthful. The Zentradi are primarily a space faring species, so living for hundreds of years (if you are so lucky) would not be remarkable to them.
  4. Sounds like the first two cours of M7... What do you mean? Two 90 minute movies of music videos for the Walkurie fans totally possible!
  5. And so where would this happen? The nearest Exxon station? Not being sarcastic so much as facetious. When a ship is a few hundred light years away it is kind of challenging to send out an oiler to top up it's supplies and or conduct repairs / upgrades. They would have to get these en-route, along with conducting repairs and upgrades and I'm sure the project designers must have considered this since we are not dealing with Spanish Galleons from the 16th century here. I am sure the Macross 25 fleet is far more sophisticated and efficient in comparison to the old Megaroad Colony ships, but I would find it difficult to accept the Megaroads would be designed to require regular dry dock visits and frequent Oiler resupplies deep into their mandates. Fair enough my time table was off, but the question remains. Despite the reasonable extrapolation, we have no evidence of fake communications between Varauta and UNS. Though one can not rely on M7 which was pretty short on these kinds of details.
  6. No picture posting until the book is out of print. We must respect Big West's profit margins or there is no point in producing more Macross. Nice anecdotes for each of the illustrations, but would have also liked to get translated notes at the end where the other mecha designs were.
  7. Not really. For some who knew about the communication breakdown, perhaps. The fleets were self sustaining environments designed to travel for decades so it is not unreasonable to believe the Megaroad 01 was out in the vast galaxy, somewhere. The lack of communication was a concern, but clearly not unusual for the times. They lost contact with the Megaroad 13 ( Varuata) colony for 7 years and never sent an SAR force to investigate before the M7 fleet stumbled across it. This reveals that communication breakdowns for extended periods were common or that the UNG had a rather Spartan attitude toward emigration fleets and their survival.
  8. OK, I don't follow. Misa was present when her father, the spokesman for UNS advised Global that the Macross was not going to get help from Earth forces and that Misa, his daughter was re-assigned to the Alaska Grand Canon Base. She is no stranger to political intrique. The world had a good re-boot after the war, but I don't think she was naive enough to believe the UNG would stay pure. The return of the Megaroad would pose some problems with the NUNG. How do you keep the Megaroad population quiet about the 50 year cover up? That whole scenario is a story unto itself. The fleet was presumed lost, I don't recall anywhere were they were presumed dead. Some may have felt that way I have no doubt. You are like a dog with a tennis ball about the movie. We have not seen any evidence yet that a movie is being planned. The second cour was supposed to be a movie, but was converted.
  9. That would be a compelling argument. Though Misa was a fleet admiral blessed with battle hardened, experienced squadrons and professional UNS commanders. Then there's Xaos of the Star Wind sector PMC.... The force of misfit staff.
  10. I think we'll get a twofer (if logic wins out). Lady M will be Misa and Minmay will tag along as one of her advisors or perhaps prime test subject. Although after M7, stretching disbelief into a pretzel is not a taboo Kawamori is afraid to break.
  11. Well this smells of a poor bait and switch to me. I may be wrong, but we'll see. I don't see Minmay who's total passion is to sing (she gave up a relationship with Hikaru to pursue her dream to perform) , would have any interest in tactics and the politics of getting the NUNG to do anything. She may be retired at this point since we were given no indication she is back on the charts, which we all know would be a huge deal in the universe. The question of Megaroad will be interesting IF it is explained. Possibly getting caught in the event horizon of a black hole would slow down time considerably for the ship. If the research of song goes back to post GSW and the Megaroad contact came after the Vajra war, then a melding of two parallel research efforts could produce the tech that we are seeing in Delta with respect to music and song. This reveal is a dodgy proposition to throw in at the very end of this series and I am not confident it will be handled well...
  12. I'd be happy with more OVA's personally as they are not so heavily dependent on big money sponsors and the stories can be more serious and universe building. As for the episode. After watching it with the subs a few things I came away with other than the obvious. The foreshadowing of Keith's heroic death or betryal of Roid. His loyalties lay with his homeworld not with his brother or his former lover Roid. The young king is preparing to sacrifice himself for Roid's plan of galactic domination. He divested his authority to Roid and Keith in his audience with them. Bogue and the knights are of the same feeling as Keith, this episode showed they are no longer drinking Roid's koolaid if it means loosing Windermere. I agree that Capt / Maj Immelman went var after being chased by Keith and Roid, with Roid's var inducing toy causing the pilot to drop his payload on a NUNS/Windermeran city. That the NUNS covered up the incident as they didn't have authorization to use the weapon in the first place. That Roid used the incident to convince the King to secede from the NUNS alliance and Keith kept quiet, thus earning him "black wings". Rei and Makina are definitely a couple. The mind control using delta waves seems to be an implied explanation as to how the PD employed their mind control. The PD drained the spiritia from their host to the point of near coma victims to control their minds. Whether the PC and SV originated this technique or the PD did is a remaining question. I suspect Freyja will sacrifice herself for her homeworld in the idol duel to come, she is certainly prepared to go that far. Lady M will show up in the final battle as either Misa or Minmay, however I believe Minmay will show up and lead Walkurie in DYRL which will be the antidote to the Star Song. I am leaning toward Misa as Lady M as she would have more tactical sense and political influence than Minmay would. Mikumo will either be sacrificed or rescued before the SV and Roid are destroyed. Though I expect the marketing of Walkurie will insist that Mikumo be rescued, when she really should die. Her power as the star singer is a dangerous ability in the wrong hands. The last act of this episode had all the feeling of the lead up to the final battle in DYRL, with Hayate playing the role of Hikaru chasing down Minmay (Freyja), and Mirage playing the part of Misa. The only real exception is that Mirage was more the role of Misa from SDFM rather than DYRL. The instrumental to DYRL was also a notable foreshadow. I also expect Misa and Minmay not to look very old either as aging in space is much different to aging on a planet with a sun's radiation. Max and Millia looked very youthful considering their ages in M7.
  13. Macross won't be over. Kawamori's helming of Macross may be over, we have no idea of this is actually going to happen. He may just stay away from the property until he has something new to say for all we know. That being said, Big West is still going to produce more shows. If not with Kawamori, then some others may be tapped for the gig. They won't sell to Bandai, as there is still too much money to be made from a property that really isn't their business' main focus. They get sponsors to pay for the production and then take their cut of the proceeds. They may even contribute by marketing the show (that is their business after all). If they did then for us HG haters, that gives the succubus the opportunity to get back involved with the franchise and I'm not too keen on that happening.
  14. Well that pretty much sums it up for me. In a shorter movie form, I suspect that this ending would have some impact, but drawn out to a second cour it was just muddled with unnecessary time filler episodes that will have little to no affect on the story over all. They simply served (with the exception of the last few) as a means to sell more merchandise and Walkurie music. It's good for Satellite as a business, as it extends the production run, but that seems to be about it. This is referred to as the "Chekhov's Gun" trope. Unfortunately this series is filled with violations of that trope.
  15. Well growing up in Canada I got to see many anime shows in French. Harlock and Cat's Eye come immediately to mind.
  16. I believe Kawamorisan has moved on kids. It's been a good ride for him, but I see no more passion to tell anymore Macross stories. This is not a bad thing. New blood, fresh ideas are clearly needed moving forward. I expect he'll always be willing to design new valks (it is his passion afterall), but telling more stories in a universe that seems to bore him now, I doubt it.
  17. THAT is remarkable that RT would air in France before Macross, considering France and Japan have always had a close relationship with respect to anime shows airing in that country.
  18. If Lady M is who I suspect she is then I am not surprised she would bring in lost causes to run her PMC. Epsilon will always win since they are the quintessential war profiteers, playing both sides of any given conflict.
  19. Hmm, what if DYRL was actually the antidote to the Star Singer Song of Control and even the Var and NOT just a PC pop song? Then we'd be full circle...
