  1. Would You mind posting a pic of the canopy ?
  2. Hey danth, You could try removing the nosecone from the fuselage and popping off the D shaped piece that covers the canopys' hinge. The D piece is usually glued in, but if You use a sharp tool like a box cutter, You might be able to wedge it in and pry the piece off. Next step, put the canopy in hot water and wait till its pliable enough for it to warp back into shape, and tape it tightly back on the nosecone for a few hours. If it ends up foggy, You can always polish it back, there are tons of videos on youtube how to. This might seem like a crazy idea, but I would definitely give it a shot, unless someone around here is willing to cast one off of theirs.....anyways, good luck !
  3. If the the thigh swivel joint isn't ratcheted, then it's very possible for the legs to have that funky outward look to them in fighter mode, even if they do tab into the backpack.
  4. Yep sounds good to me. I remember buying some ink used for tampos on toys but was a pain to get my hands on it. Airbrushed a Yamato Vf-1A on some parts and it never rubbed off...this dyeing method seems way easier and uniform to get done though. Thanks for the info and cheers !
  5. Hey Xigfrid, that is looking beautiful, awesome work!! Any idea if these can be printed in other colors besides white plastic ? Perhaps blue, or red..... Thanks and have a good one !!
  6. I personally like the look of the naked sdf-1..... when I find one at a decent price I'll just weather it up a bit, all those painted on "lights" the premium has makes it look a bit off to my eyes
  7. I personally don't have these super parts but You shouldn't have to extend the legs 1 click in order to mount them. Extending the legs in fighter mode means dislodging the tabs on the backpack/arms that tab into the legs, the design of this VF is not meant to do this with or without the superparts.
  8. Hey Darotower, where in S. America do You live? If You can get Your hands on an intact hip bar, try taking it to a artisan jeweller. They sometimes cast copies from other metal jewellry pieces, but You would have to ask if if they could do it in steel and heat treat it. You might have some luck, and not have to break the bank taking that route.
  9. To facilitate thepanel wash is my guess. Or He put together a Yamato VF-1 kit and liked it so much decided to repeat the build process on the VF-0S......
  10. Hey Xigfrid, could You take a pic of the vf-9 beside a vf-19, both in fighter mode for size comparison? Maybe scaling it up to a vf-19's size might look pretty good....
  11. Hey Xigfrid, first of all awesome job and balls to tackle such a complex valk ! To my eyes it looks great but, maybe if You scaled it up a bit to make it at least the size of a 1/60 vf-1 that might give You more room to work on fine-tuning. I know many here would prefer a "correctly scaled" vf-9 but, as long as it doesn't end up as large as an sv-51, that minor size-up wouldn't seem too off. Just my 2 cents, keep it up & bravo !
  12. Thanks for the info buddy !! There is a method of clearcoating with future clearparts but, with future. I wouldn't dare to try that with acrylic paint, if you screw up, you might have a hard time fixing it.
  13. Aahhh a wiseguy aahhh ??
  14. I would strongly recommend taking the airbrush route. I have painted canopies on model jets with this technique and the results are flawless. Using a paintbrush will result in disaster and you will want to commit seppuku with that same damn brush. If You can't find the tamiya clear colors, you can always use a GLOSS color of your choice, and thinner say, about 1 part paint and 6 or 7 parts thinner, mix and spray on whatever clear part you want to. You need to go slowly, building up the coats till you get the desired effect on the visor, lights etc. One more thing, can someone please tell me the size of the box the riobot stick comes in? Actual toy box that is. Thanks and cheers !!
  15. Hey mustang1 ! Could You describe the size of the figures' box please? Not shipping box, but the toy box; width, height and depth Thanks very much!!
  16. Gracias pero prefiero conseguirlo por mis propios medios, no es por tí, pero algunas personas son un poco sensibles a la hora de pedirles un recast con muy buen detalle. Saludos y suerte
  17. I'll second that ! Estimated cost please !!
  18. I mean why there there are no 1/60 scale buildable model kits out there. There are some 3d options but none made by the traditional companies like Hasegawa, Bandai, etc. Would be great to see these in kit form for those of us that prefer this scale. Not as small as the 1/72s but not huge as the 1/48s ( YF-19 Hase) for example. In other words, kits that would fit our Valk collections perfectly, scalewise.
