  1. Hey Seto, I recall you mentioning before that the "not official setting material" Master File books include a number of valkyrie models not (yet) established in canon materials, such as the YF-26, YF-30B, VF-30, and YF-31. Are there more non-canon models "established" in these non-canon sources?
  2. I really should get around to buying the Frontier movies on Blu-Ray so I can see how the official English subtitles in anime render his legal name versus his nickname.
  3. That’s what I thought of too, but the original Japanese text for “soln” is ゾルン / zorun, not ツォルン / tsorun. It would be odd if they correctly presented the German pronunciation of “z” in “Panzer” but forgot it in the rest of the compound word. Still, “Zorn” would make a lot of sense since it’s an actual word.
  4. Haha, I see that Sildani is based in North America but perhaps it is worthwhile to specify for the benefit of all members here that you mean “yon” in an American English accent. (Yack Deculture I hate the stupid Great Vowel Shift.)
  5. Who gave Hakuna Aoba YF-25 parts for the Zeak and why, anyway? It's a 改 fighter, implying secondary aftermarket customization unlike the developer-sponsored mod that is the Nothung, as I understand things, yes?
  6. How many other fighter models are equipped with the EX-Gear? Off the top of my head I want to say that at least definitely includes every version of the YF-25 Prophecy, VF-25 Messiah, YF-29 Durandal / Perceval, YF-30 Chronos, and VF-31 Kairos / Siegfried.
  7. Mog is probably right. Don't forget that earlier in The Winter Soldier, one of the historical news headlines disembodied Zola shows is the death of the Starks, just before Zola highlights the death of Fury. Rogers must have obviously deduced that a S.H.I.E.L.D. leader's suspicious death had to have been HYDRA's handiwork.
  8. Oh right, now I remember reading this before. Thanks, Seto Kaiba. And on a different subject, what is the naming intent behind the (フェイオス・バルキリー) Feios Valkyrie? All Google gives me for "Feios" is some minor village in Norway. And is that a typo on the MMM page where it says Timothy Daldhanton was a member of Vindirance?
  9. What is the meaning of "Zeak"? I have never heard of this name before anywhere. And that reminds me: if VF-19ACTIVE does not have "改" in its sub-model name, then are we to infer that there is an entire line of Nothung units?
  10. Can a mod adjust this thread's title to properly render "Walküre" with an umlaut? Or is that not possible on this board's software?
  11. Do we know for certain if the SV-52 Oryol is named for Oryol the city / Oryol Oblast? I would guess as much, but Macross the Ride didn't exactly have a high romanization budget. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oryol
  12. What is the naming intent behind the Fz-109 エルガーゾルン / Erugāzorun (Elgersorn? Elgerzorn?) and the Az-130 パンツァーゾルン / Pantsāzorun (Panzersorn? Panzerzorn?)? Are these some kind of German portmanteau? Are we to assume that the Megaroad-13 / Varauta colony included many humans of German descent?
  13. Ooo. Maybe they’ll be radical and include a potential same-sex pairing in the new series’s main love triangle.
  14. http://www.macross2.net/m3/macrossf/vf-27.htm When MMM, courtesy of Macross Chronicle?, says that Galaxy never informed the N.U.N.G. of the VF-27 reaching production and deployment, is that true of the TV telling of Frontier or the movie telling?
  15. What's the real-world naming intent behind the YF-29 Durandal? For a fighter that basically supplanted the VF-25 Messiah as the designated rival to the VF-27 Lucifer, I don't see how "Durandal" is supposed to thematically oppose "Lucifer". Relatedly, why is YF-29B Perceval rendered in Japanese as パーツィバル / Pātsibaru? Where does that pronunciation come from?
