  1. Yep. Have been a maintainer for nearly 20 years (how time flies). Too bad about missing out. But if things change you can always give it another try s there is no age limit - Brett
  2. Thanks arbit! Was that via ebay a few days ago? If so they have been sent and I will refund some of the excess postage as well when I get back home. -Brett
  3. Thanks ivorysniper! I'll keep that in mind for our weekends off. I have been pretty lucky to have been chosen for the F35 team to bring the new jet into RAAF service - Brett - Brett
  4. I'll be in town for a few weeks (up from Australia) and wondered if any modelling types might be around who want to say G'day? Cheers, Brett
  5. Thanks MT. Just a little more progress on this one. Plus I started messing around with concrete slabs for the base. - Brett
  6. It certainly is and not just in 1/72 scale. You can get this in 1/144, 1/100, 1/60 etc. Hit up Exo on his Plastic Cretins FaceBook page or via email: orders@plasticcretins.com - Brett
  7. Thanks Arbit. I have been using the Rinaldi Studio SM.03 book as a guide: Some more progress on weathering. And I am in the process of getting these decals printed: Cheers, Brett
  8. Its been awhile between posts. I had a peeled paint issue on the main pod which required a full strip and repaint. Combined with a work trip away and picking up a bug at the airport and my modelling time was shot to pieces. But the build is back on track and tonight I started the weathering. - Brett
  9. I use DEK L's run by Derek Lee. Rates are quite reasonable if you have your art ready to go and he will create "whites" for you if you have yellow or white decals. The whites are a separate decal to go under the lighter colours to make them brighter. I really rate them as the decals are super thin as I have seen the carrier film disappear under a light coat of matt clear. The only thing you have to remember is that they are printed upside down, which can work in your favour as you don't have to slide the backing out from under the decals. Just place it face down and slide the backing off - simples! If you are interested derek can be contacted on: sales@dekls.com.au - Brett
  10. I always cut, file and sand wet. I use a sink or shallow tray and use raxor saws to cut off the large pour stubs, a bastard file to get close to the part and finish with jewelers files and wet and dry abrasive paper. That way all the nasty resin dust is trapped and you can't breath it in. Just use a bit of WD40 on your tools after so they don't rust. -Brett
  11. The kits will ship with decals for sure. A pilot will probably be available as an optional extra for those that want one. And if we go down the pre order path the pilot will likely be the bonus. Don't forget that Zentreadi infantry and officer figures are available from Mike Salzo, so drop him a pm if you are interested. -Brett
  12. Just like the title says. Would you buy a repop? Well you'll get your chance later this year but right now we are just gauging interest. Cheers, Brett
  13. This build is great! It has everything - lighting, moving bits and a great finish. Congrats dude -Brett
  14. But that was Bandai. Wave's engineering is a little less... good.
  15. Yep and it breaks my heart to have to bail on this one. I just can't justify that sort of money when I can get a good looking VF-1 Gerwalk for a fraction of the cost elsewhere. I had been looking forward to getting this since it came out too. -Brett
  16. Mike are you eyeballing those engine bell rivets? Or is there some sort of indexing tool used? Either way the extra details look sharp! - Brett
  17. That Prime 1 VF-1J is ridiculous Woah that's gonna be a stretch
  18. I hope not! I think they will struggle to move a model kit (even one this awesome) for $1K. I am keen as mustard for this but I'm not throwing a thousand bucks at it.
  19. Well some are available already! BTW new artwork for the 72 scale version: - Brett
  20. But by Great Ceasar's Ghost is it expensive! A Hasegawa VF-1A/J/S cleanskin is 1600 yen or so. A super thunderbolt is 2800 or there abouts. I mean I will get one, but at those prices i can only afford to get one! -Brett
  21. Is it enamel or acrylic? You could try a bath of isopropyl for a few hours and see how that goes.
  22. I recently managed to get my hands on Mike's repop of the Moscato Hobby Models Glaug in 1/72. I have a had a quick look through the big box o resin that showed up at my house of Friday. There is a heap of parts in this bad boy! I have started clean up already but it might take a while before I am at the painting stage. I thought I might start on the arm cannons first. It's a great kit and a real bargain too if you missed out on the original release. -Brett
  23. I have packets ready so I guess this means that the 1/48 scale VF-1 masking sets are officially in production! These 48 scale sets use double the masking material but are only priced 50% more. Each set is AUD $8.25 incl postage within Australia. International orders need to add a flat AUD$3.00 regardless of how many sets are ordered. Anyone interested can send me a pm here or at returntokitform@gmail.com. Cheers, Brett
  24. How did I mess this topic? That sure sounds like a fail there Hasegawa. Though it is nice to know even the big boys get it wrong occasionally.
