  1. The model sheets for both Andromeda and Dreadnought lack any mention of side bulge launchers, and considering how thorough those are, I doubt they have them. In fact, the description for the ventral hanger states that it's for the launching and retrieval of planes and description for the side bulge on both Andromeda and Dreadnought state they're the housing for the missile launchers, so it's far more likely that the side bulge launch mechanism is unique to Apollo Norm and her sister. Side bulge: Multiple missile launcher—A missile launcher equipped with a total of 16 units on both sides. Ventral hatch: Ship's opening for arrival and departure—Arrival and departure hatched for on board aircraft. Side bulge: Short torpedo launch tubes—Short torpedo launch tube equipped with 12 gates on both sides Ventral hatch: Aircraft/internal boat arrival and landing—Landing and launch for onboard aircraft and internal boats Note that the panels to the left and right of Dreadnought's ventral hatch are likely the opening for the internal boats similar to Yamato's.
  2. The hell are you talking about? The Andromeda and Dreadnought launch and retrieve fighters the same way as the Yamato, ie through the ventral hanger door. Are you implying that the Yamato launches her fighters from the side hanger doors even though they don't even connect? Apollo Norm and her sister have all their planes in the big hanger everyone makes fun of. They have 12 openings, so they can launch 12 fighters at a time. Andromeda, Dreadnought, and Yamato can only launch one at a time. I really don't see what's so challenging to understand.
  3. Same as the Yamato. The 1/1000 models of the Andromeda and Dreadnought have an aft ventral hanger door.
  4. Supplemental materials say they can. Face it, you wouldn't have noticed otherwise if someone hadn't pointed it out, especially on-screen. Andromeda has 36 fighters, the Dreadnought-class has 15 fighters. They probably didn't launch because they weren't trying to sink Yamato, just scare them off.
  5. Just want to mention that Andromeda, despite being 33% longer and twice as wide as Yamato, only has a crew of 200. IIRC the Dreadnought also only has a crew of 150.
  6. The Kongou and Murasame are simply upgrades of the pre-2199 ships; it can be assumed that restructuring the ship to allow them to use a WMG would have been more work than simply switching out the guns and installing a Wave Motion Engine. All the resources I could find indicated the original series ships had WMGs; they just never got a chance to fire them. The only ship that didn't have an opening on the front that had rifling was the EDF destroyer. I could see an argument for the cruisers and such in 2202 using really big positron shock cannons for the bows, but the openings were never used as thrusters or whatever, which was what I was against. If you're making your fleet based on the use of WMGs, then there's no reason to not put them on the cruisers and other smaller craft if you have the technology to do so. Just because it's a patrol cruiser doesn't mean it will never have an opportunity to use the WMG; one could argue that as a patrol cruiser it should since it would be off by itself instead of with the rest of the fleet battleships. Also, the Destroia is a heavy cruiser, not a battleship.
  7. Because the entire point of the bew EDF ships is that they all contain Wave Motion Guns. They had them in the original, and with the huge emphasis that has been placed on Earth using WMGs now there's very little reason to think that the cruisers and lesser ships won't mount them as well.
  8. I don't see how you can think that. With the rifling it looks a lot more like a Wave Motion Gun.
  9. Maybe, most likely. No other info other than its looks ATM. Kobayashi took down those tweets, so in case anyone can't see those pics here's a mirror.
  10. On Twitter Kobayashi posted an alternate color scheme for the Dreadnought and the 2202 patrol cruiser, the Enceladus!
  11. https://twitter.com/makomako713/status/882443348459405312 Cosmo Tiger I without armaments. Kobayashi also mentioned seeing a prototype of the 1/72 Cosmo Tiger I, so we may be seeing that in the future. https://twitter.com/makomako713/status/882444108991680512
  12. The Andromeda has a total of 42 (16 on the bulge amidships, 10 on the underside, and 16 to the side of the conning tower) missile launchers that can double as AA duty. Yamato only has 16, 8 in the "smokestack" and 8 on the underside. It also has 4 pulse laser turrets (2 double-mounts around the bridge and 2 triple-mounts beside the conning tower) as well as a triple-mount dispersion pulse laser behind the conning tower (it's the bulge with 3 openings behind the bridge and in front of the 3rd turret). The Andromeda seems to be taking a more modern approach to AA, by spamming missiles as opposed to the Yamato's WW2 approach by spamming guns. In addition to the positron shock cannons, the Andromeda has 8 anti-ship grenade launchers on the upper bulge in front of front turret as well as 6 beam projectors on each side of the conning tower (the grey openings). The Andromeda also has 8 total subspace torpedo tubes (the bulges under the front turret with 2 openings) in addition to its 4 rapid-fire torpedo tubes (on the nose), 8 small torpedo tubes (above and below the fin), and 16 short torpedo tubes. The Yamato only has 12 torpedo tubes (6 in the bow, 6 in the aft) and 16 short torpedo tubes. The Andromeda also has the same fighter complement as the Yamato, minus the Cosmo Zeroes. All-in-all, the Andromeda looks to be on-paper superior to the Yamato in almost every way.
  13. Bandai loves releasing variants, especially if they're simple color changes. There's a market for people who want the new darker blue Andromeda but are unable or unwilling to paint, as Bandai does a fantastic job with color separation.
  14. You need the raw video file (preferably .mkv) and a special video player such as MPC-HC (it's free). You open the raw video, then drag the subtitles into MPC-HC.
