  1. Hmmm, you’re right. I wasn’t aware there was a set of 2. I’ll probably just order that. And then see what else I can use the other stand for.
  2. ^^ Now that's striking a pose! I need to show that to my son, who used to do that all the time.
  3. If anyone’s ordering these and would like sell me one piece once they receive them, I’d be willing to pay a reasonable price. I only have a single 1/60 valk and would rather not order a set.

While Bandai might be hesitant to release the Angel Bird, knowing it’s a more obscure livery, it could have a high likelihood of people buying multiples for complete squadrons like in that photo, similar to people buying multiple CFs to army build.

Not to derail this further into a camera thread, but aside from the optics, the actual focal length of the lens has a huge impact on how the subject of your photo appears. Most phone cameras use a very wide angle (short focal length), which is making the nose of that VT-1 look much larger, which might be the look some are going for. A shorter focal length also makes it harder to make things in the background appear out of focus.

Exciting to see the VF-1D box art. That always makes the arrival of a new release seen real. Same here. I’ve already built one from Hi-Metal components, but an official release would be cool. It’s also my favorite valkyrie. I admit this is part of the appeal of the Tomahawk for me, since I was a Mechwarrior fan before I knew anything about Macross. I thought about getting the HMR Dougram for the same reason.
  7. Congrats to everyone who was able to score a Max preorder. I’ll keep waiting for the VF-1S Roy announcement.
  8. I’m not that familiar with the game, but that’s pretty cool that they would do a physical re-release. I wonder how hard this will be to get in the U.S. As for Gaiares, that isn’t a very expensive game, so I don’t see as much of a need.

I think the problem you’re running into is the fact that the DYRL pilots are larger than the TV ones, so the VE-1 pilots may not work either. You are correct that the HM pilots are glued to the seat, but they can be removed if you carefully pry them to pop the glue loose. This is generally true. The lens also makes a much bigger difference than the latest and greatest camera. Agreed that @Saburo clearly knows what he’s doing, at least in photos; not sure if he knows the full extent of what he’s doing to our wallets!

Got my VF-4 today from AmiAmi, thanks to @sh9000. Only took 10 days total via SAL. Can’t wait to set it up.
  11. Those look amazing. Very nice!
  12. Nice to see the progress here. I’ll probably get a set with the orange parts. I think they’d look good on the VF-1D.
  13. @Lolicon - Your weathering and your photos are fantastic! This making me look forward to the HMR VF-1D.

I think this is probably the main reason for their current scarcity and price. The VF-1A mass production is in a similar situation. If we’re talking about the missile Regult set, those were originally a limited edition, making them more rare.

Agreed, fighter mode on the VF-4 is beautiful. That’s likely where mine will stay, since I’m not as much of a fan of it’s battroid mode. Interesting to note that based on @sh9000‘s photo above, the VF-4 appears to be the longest HMR valk released so far.

Does it feel like there may be a need to initially be careful so as not to break any joints? The VF-1 shoulders tended to be really tight and needed to be turned slowly until they loosened up a bit.
  17. So is 60+ hours a fairly normal length of time for this game? Seems like a nice long game, especially with multiple paths to choose. I’m probably going to pick this one up — and add it to the ever growing backlog.
  18. I’m also surprised that Max is the next DX VF-1, but glad to see that they are sticking with TV for now and working to build Vermillion. I agree with @Convectuoso that they should have already made this in HMR. They have to do a DX Roy 1S at some point, and I can wait.

@Gundam@EFSF - that’s a very helpful size comparison with other HMR VFs. I’m looking forward to getting mine. Thanks to @sh9000 for hooking me up.

^^ Packed in fighter mode as expected.
  21. Agreed. It is pretty cool to look at. Personally I'd pass on buying, but I can't help but think that this is exactly the Super VF-1S set that I keep hoping Bandai will release in HMR. I still consider getting one of the original 1/55 sets (the Bandai reissue, not the Takatoku original).
  22. I agree with your guess. I think there’s a chance Rondo and Symphony could be on there, since Requiem wasn’t released for the Switch. And given the Gameboy games, I think GBA could be a possibility. I guess it depends on how retro they want to go, and I suspect they’ll lean toward the older titles. Since I have physical copies of most console Castlevanias and Contras, the arcade titles are more interesting to me, since there hasn’t really been a good way to play those legally.
  23. Having a PVM to play it on probably doesn’t hurt, either. I may have to check this one out.
  24. Good to know. I'll have to keep that in mind. Cool. Have you ever played the original Front Mission for Super Famicom? That's the only one of the series I've played, unless you count Gun Hazard.

I noticed that, too. Whatever the motivation, it’s nice to see.
