  1. In the HMR line, Bandai's track record of matching paint and plastic colors seems to be pretty good. I went back and looked at Max and Milia's VF-1Js, and they just about nailed it there. the VF-1A CF is also very good, if not as close of a match. I'm hopeful that what we actually get on the VT-1 will look better than the above photos.
  2. Wow, those colors do look disappointing. But I'll hold out hope that under proper lighting the colors are better. Any chance that's a prototype and not final? On the other hand, the box art looks really nice.
  3. @Mommar and @Sanity is Optional -- your Max and Hikaru are looking really good in those. I was also going to armor up my spare Hikaru with the 101. @Saburo -- the HMR Hikaru 1A looks great in the 011, and your photos are excellent as always. Interesting that in some cases, these parts seem to match better color-wise with the original Hi-Metals. Any have an original bright white Hikaru 1J and a 000 or 101 set they could try together?
  4. Based on the similarity to the opening shot of SDFM, I think the TV VF-1J would fit better here, but very nice job on the photos.
  5. Got my preparation in progress email from NY for the VT-1!
  6. Interesting -- I don't believe I ever got an email about shipment. They just showed up.
  7. 101 and 102F have arrived, just as ordered!
  8. So, this was waiting for me when I got home. (Haven't opened it yet, but the box is large enough to hold both the sets I ordered.)
  9. Someone was working on additional parts for HMR VF-1s a while back, and there was some talk of the side covers. No updates in a while, to my knowledge. Here's the thread: And @Jwwu, as someone else who missed the first few HMR releases, I'd also suggest going ahead and buying any you might want, with no likelihood of re-releases and secondary market prices going up.
  10. I bought the 101 and 102F. I didn't think about them shipping out different versions at different times, but I guess that makes sense.
  11. So is Fext Hobby not providing any shipment tracking? It's always nice for me to know when it's coming (and even kinda fun to watch the progress). Either way, it's great to see these showing up already.
  12. The HM DYRL VF-1 white is a little more off-white with a hint of yellow, while the HMR TV Hikaru VF-1J white is slightly blue-gray. It looks like Fext has used a very bright white that won't exactly match either. Though I bet it would match the original HM TV Hikaru VF-1J, which was very white. I personally thought the all-white 000 was a little too plain, and went with the 101 (along with the 102F for CF awesomeness).
  13. Some were included on the sticker sheet for the Hi Metal VF-1 super parts set. It had black, red, blue, and green for the DYRL squad. There may be other options as well. Glad to see that custom squad decals are included with these. I'm really looking forward to getting my sets.
  14. That's a great price -- about what I paid for mine. And @Black Valkyrie, those are some cool images. I think I like the battroid one best. It might help if the background were just a little blurry on all of them to make it look more like it would through a good camera.
  15. I think there's a lot of potential for them here, at least in the shorter term. Newer collectors like me who missed the original releases would love a chance to get in on them without paying secondary market prices. I see the recent Max and Milia releases as a great example of this.
  16. Indeed. All those official shots above look amazing. (Thanks for posting, @sh9000 and @no3Ljm) Maybe it's just me, but the feet are looking a bit large (or long) to me. Maybe it's a camera angle thing, or perhaps I've just gotten used to the proportions of the 1/60s and HMR. Still, this is gonna be hard to resist.
  17. ^ So those are all the ones you ordered, @sh9000? You've probably got enough HMR valks to make use of that many!
  18. Just came back from vacation and noticed this thread exploded with big news! After catching up on the last 10 pages, I will say that this new VF-1 is looking really nice to me, and the price is surprisingly reasonable. While I'm not really a collector of larger scales due to limits on funds and space, it's very tempting for me to PO this. I might wait and see if they do a TV VF-1S. I didn't see a clear answer on whether or not this comes with missiles for the hard points. It would appear that it doesn't, since they aren't shown anywhere in the pics?
  19. I'm hoping that the 1/100 armor will be shipping soon. I'd like to get my hands on the 101 and 102F I ordered. Anyone heard anything as far as an update?
  20. Nice job matching the poses. Though it does call attention to the missing gun straps. (Enter @sh9000 for that...)
  21. I agree, and think a dark HMR VF-1A with GBP would be cool, and also a way for people to catch up on the GBP if they missed it the initial release. Given some of the repaints we've seen so far, I think it's reasonable that Bandai might produce them. They might even be able to find a way to have the valk itself double as a Cavaliers version. As for the Phalanx, I think we'd see a brown/tan version from Bandai before a blue one.
  22. Very impressive, @tekering. That Monster really fills out the place. Makes me wish I could find space for one of those.
  23. So interesting thinking of someone experiencing the first Zelda for the first time now in 2018... I remember buying my copy in the fall of 1987 (still have it CIB) and figuring out what to do. The manual was helpful with learning what each item did. Wait for the second quest -- that's when the game really takes the gloves off, as they say. Speaking of original carts, I've probably got copies of most of what's on the NES and SNES classics (or at least most of the better ones). Combine those with the original consoles and a CRT I picked up recently, and I don't have much desire to get the Classic editions, except more as a fascination. They're definitely a good deal for what they are, and a handy way to play via HDMI.
  24. I'd say keep your eyes open to this forum thread. Someone with good connections always seems to drop the news well in advance of preorder time. All I want for Christmas is a Tomahawk...
  25. Despite what I said earlier about not being as interested in the PF versions, a PF TV super VF-1S would be something I'd likely go for.
