  1. post pics people. It's great saying so and so but without a pic it means nothing to those unfamiliar. I'm a fan of morrigan/lilith from darkstalkers, and purgatori as well. I'd post pics but I can't find any safe for public viewing
  2. I forget who I was talking to about what but during the conversation I had a though. I then had another beer... or two... anyhow, eventually I sobered up enough to remember the thought premise so here it goes... So of us here on the board are hoarders. By this I mean than it's not neccissarilly that we want to hoard... but one of our favorite toys comes around at a price we can't say no to... so we don't, even though we already have a few of them sitting on a shelf. I'm famous for my jetfire fetish. I bid on lord knows how many a month and rarely win, but every jetfire with armor I score in my price range shipped... I'm not gonna complain. It doesn't happen often but the times it does I jump on. Yeah I have a boxed jetfire [or few] but even though I don't need them, and already have enough junker 1/55's to make a custom army from, I still can't help but buy any orginal vf with f/p at a price less than a reissue. Unfortunately not all things can be gotten as cheap as a reissue. But anyhow... I want to know what toys others hoard. We all can anme a few individualls that have 12x of every 1/48 AND rare stuff like a beta... so I want to limit this to the individuals top three hoarding items. As such... you loved the 1/60 roy strike and bought 30... that counts. Have 1 1/60 signined by the creator AND a taiwanese whore... I don't care and you prbably shouldn't discuss sch stuff Anyways as you bever know who might show up at your wedding so... what do you have the mostest of? I'll start off with my top three... #1... jetfires... I actually have no idea and estimate by volume... enough... #2... zen officers pods. [matchbox till somebody else makes one] 6 complete #3... Yamato 1/72 vf-19a [in all it's blue goodness] 3, 2 mib and one paint chipped in box. for extras... as I know there are many like me who wouldn't mind a duplicate at the right price but have yet to find one... I had to bid on, and thankfully win, doubles/multiples of... gundam 1/100 s-heavy type rx-178 s-heavy speacial 1 mib, 1 cwb, one loose gundam 1/100 rx-178 musha cloth type [x2 both mib one with poster] there is other stuff I have stockpiled but nothing cool, especially since godzilla aquired my "army". Just wondering what else everybody else is hording. :note... I don't mean for this to become a bragging rights in your face thread. We all know some folk can afford 12 of each 1/48 as it comes out. I can't and as such thats not what I ask. I want to know your top three and numbers. You could own 5 transformers... 4 ravage and 1 sound wave... ravage would make your list. 100+ 1/48's... great... which three do you have the most of? got one of everything... what do you have doubles of? You get the idea. I have many cool toys but I don't "play" with any unless I have a "back-up"{ in case part of a twa 747 falls from the sky destroying it..., or my dog eats it..., or my cats/wife vomit on it..., you get the idea. If somebody only owns four toys, and one of them is a duplicate... I want to know what that duplicate is.
  3. depends on much. Uncreased box flap can double the value, as can unapplied sticker sheet. I saw a case fresh one fetch over $1200 a few years back and it can only have gone up. Average complete... $75, complete boxed $150, complete matsu boxed $200-$250. AFA graded 10 sealed in plastic case fresh painted wing matsu with with both sticker sheets unapplied and missles... somewhere near 10k I'd guess.
  4. What the hell!?!?!? People do that!?!??! Geez no wonder I can't find anything where ever I go! Damn! 389519[/snapback] the smart scalpers just put stuff on lay-a-way. 10% down and it's safely yours. Sell one ebay at a severe mark-up, get paid, use the money to pay off the lay-a-way and ship it and you still have a nice profit. Kinda like buying on margin
  5. I don't need it graded, I can do that when I sell. I just need a case to keep the box flap uncreased and the box cat vomit free
  6. where can I find one of those cases?!?!?!?!?!? I have only one minty jf in a uncreased boxflap box and want to make sure that the flap stays uncreased. Anybody know where I can get one of these clear shells?
  7. a yellowed intact jetfire still makes a great custom starting point for a seeker or o conversion. As numerous and messed up as my spawn/vf merges have been I always started with a jetfire or vf that could never be refurbished completely. As is I have I don't know how many vf legs and nosecones extra are lying around as arms, tail asemblies and intact backplates are hard to find. All my customs are based on repaired rather than refurbed vf's. the difference being... if I can use all intact factory parts I don't care how yellowed they are, but if I have everything I need but a backplate and I have a cracked backplate I can repair... horrible custom mods here I come.
  8. hey ernesto... I believe that was a gashapon set. ask rob ot noel as they would probably know.
  9. exo. Toys are better than models . Especially when you modify them using model parts. I hear good things about certain gundam kits but... I love my lawn darts and making them more detailed is even cooler. I equate it to making a kit car on a sub frame vs making a kit car an a solid frame. They will both look cool but only one can be used as a lawn dart granted I recently lost my custom cyber violatr valk head thanks to a cat, but it is easily fixible and the rest of the toy based frame survived just fine, though the cat limped for a week . as for the dark-ages... Jetfire was my first vf. I had a few of the action figures as well as a hover tank [which sucked], a tactical pod, and a shock trooper. All that is dust in time but a friend pawned me his jetfire and trying to replace the arm armors I found MW. I apparently found it at the perfect time as bandai was re-issuing at the time. I got hooked. My friend has his now completed and boxed jetfire back [it was a graduation present] and I have a massive addiction resulting from said completion as I had to buy a partial to get the parts I needed and as such had another jf tat needed to be completed... and so on and so on and so on... from what I gather it sucked to be anybody who loved macross in the 80's unless you were asian or lived in CA, the toy selection for a rural farm area new-yorker sucked major ass. Good bless the internet
  10. this is why I keep a room closed off from my cats all my cool stuff goes into. Plus I can get away from the wife as well . 7 cats with the lightest at 18lbs and the heaviest at 27lbs. Thankfully they don't really eat my toys [often] but one or two love eating plastic bags... like the ones you store collectible comics in or yammies come factory sealed in . That isn't why I keep a "toy" room though... it's so I never again have to see a mib toy covered in cat vomit .
  11. somebody is offering minmay guard decals in 1/48? anasazi rocks I'm guessing. As for customizing... don't worry to much about paintjobs as you can always strip and start over. It's structural mods that can devastate a toy. Drill out a hole a little to large and "snap"... you now have a problem worse than repainting.
  12. I recommend "3 in 1" oil over wd-40 or slicon types as it won't cause any issues... as long as you are using oil based paints anyways. Compressed air will also remove cat hair once it's dry.
  13. looks like I'm mainstream at 30. We only have 2 people over 40?!?!?!? I guess that makes sense as old people can't work computers but why only 1 member under 17 then?
  14. nice for dead stock. I have a loose one and a mib one. The boxed one would be perfect dead stock but for the remanents of it's $19.95 price sticker . Suffice to say I paid a lot more than that for it. "hi metal" rocks!
  15. how much? just wondering how much mine is worth
  16. must have been something you ate. I though a girl already yelled at you for hanging out at the all night haggus and squid cart or was it krabkalla and oyster juice this time
  17. have you seen the connan o'brian angry puppet head dog at the sci-fi convention yet? One of the top ten funniest things I have seen on broadcast tv.
  18. if roy haden't died I would have had no excuse to make my custom 1/55 spawn/undead vf . It even has gore on the inside of the cockpit
  19. are you sure? they might have miss-spelled "macress"
  20. those bits never seem to go back into a joon's properly... cheap toys. It is a nice custom job but must be older as any sane person would custom a re-issue bandai now-a-days. They cost the same and are a better product.
  21. DYRL 1/48 Vf-1S (Hikaru): 001 Accessories 1/48 Vf-1 FP: 001 Others 1/72 vf-19a: 002 1/72 yf-21: 002 1/72 vf-11b: 001 1/72 vf-11b F/P 001 my small yammie collection
  22. super sweet. now how about a seeker? If you are willing I have most of a super rare resin 1/100 seeker kit that it could be based off. I picked it up to make custom ve bit's for my 1/100 toys but like many projects I have gotten nowhere near starting on it. As rare as the kit is, how long it took to find it, and as much as I spent on it... I'm willing to lend it out as long as I would get it back
  23. once upon a time a few of us got together and figured out the scales of all the matchbox mecha. I wished I had saved the list somewhere I could remember. It's on one of my hard drives somewhere but lord knows where now. I believe the glaug was 1/56 or 1/59 depending if you based height off the top of the head or top of the head cannon [there was muc debate so we listed both]. The 7" mecha were pretty much 1/55, the tactical was approx 1/56 scale. I wish I could find that info as we had all the math along with the results. Now as far as pods go... I love the matchbox glaug. I have a couple of tactical pods but the really big marauder was my all time favorite non-transforming toy. The only toy I have more of is 1/55's because of all the varients and my jetfire fetish. [i actually traded a boxed tactical and a boxed officers for a boxed jetfire and to this day am uncertain if it was a deal I should have done... which if you know me should tell you something ] all in all I would recommend getting an exo-squad officers pod as it's identical to the original matchbox excepting a lighter color shade and will be ten years tighter and probably cheaper. Or if you are really desperate you could pm me and try to tempt me to part with a loose one. Ordinarily I would never offer but times are tight and yamato is releasing to much stuff and there is a gundam on ebay I want but just got outbid on I also have a spare mib 1/100 glaug kit I am not overly attached to as I hate building kits I would part with for current ebay prices.
  24. the seller actually did speak to defend his actions. Life got in the way as sometimes happens and he took what he could get in the time he had. Yeah it sucks to have to sell under duress but I believe he was happy that stuff went to a good home. Lord knows if the pieces were sold individually we all would have been clamoring. We can only hope some of the doubles make their way back into the for sale section at only a slight mark up very nice score hirohawa. If that had been posted the week I sold my camaro you would have had competiion... and I'd now be divorced

    Joons 1/55 Valks

http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st=80&p=381065& clicky the linky. I know you would have found that thread if you searched for "joon's". It's a complete [as far as we know] listing of every 1/55 including joons with all the pics. I have all the joon's [until somebody proves the 1a exists anyways] and avereaged less than $30 for them boxed. The green one was the last one I got and the most expensive at $40 shipped. I never would have spent that much but for the fact it was the last one I needed. big F scored nice for one at that price. Boxed they tend to average the same price at re-issue bandai's [which are sooooo much better value for the money]. I recently pointed out a $10 mib joon's in the argh thread... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...pic=17128&st=40 http://cgi.ebay.com/MACROSS-ROBOT-VARIABLE...1QQcmdZViewItem on the other hand I did see a joon's milla go for over $200 one time. If you search through the auctions of great absurdity thread you will find the reference. A while back I sold my spare boxed joon's max and milla to somebody here on the boards for far less than $100 for the pair... I believe it was around $60 shipped but that was 2 or so years ago and my memory leaves much to be desired. as for selling them on ebay... just sell them as "vintage 80's 1/55 valkyrie / veritech's" and you shouldn't do as bad as the $10 one. I would recommend selling them individually and not as a pair though.
