  1. I just built the RX-78 PG that they were selling at Amazon. It's a sweet kit, but detail wise it's definately lacking compared ot some of the newer MG kits (surface detail is VERY poor). In a lot of ways, it's not nearly the challenge something like the Zeta was. There's lots of interior parts, sure, but they aren't hard to put together.
  2. I'm sure many of you have seen this, bu I just happened upon it today for the first time and was REALLY impressed! G System Shop They have some INCREDIBLE after market parts for your MG & PG gundams. The prices can be steep ($230 for the PG 1/60 RX-78 parts) but they look soooo gorgeous.
  3. If you didn't punch him in the stomach and then break his nose, you really must be a little gay.
  4. I have had people ask "why are you interested in this?" and make a confused face. I like respond "why are you an apeface?" or if I don't like them "Have you considered that it might be that I enjoy these things? Or that you might be stupid?"
  5. This sould scare you all to death http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2S89Y4shxtE
  6. I'm doing my first 1/60 PG Gundam, and I was hoping to find a message forum full of people obsessed with Gunpla to get some pointers from. What's your favorite Gunpla forum?
  7. The japanese title is "uoooooooaaaaaaaaah! protoculture!!!!!" followed by a bunch of smilies... think its a joke of some kind!
  8. I'm dying to see a picture comparing the DS Lite to the GB Micro. I really want to see how big this sexy beast is. Right now I have a Micro that I take with me to work; it's a lot of fun on the subway, but I find that most of the games are a little too boring for my tastes. I'm really excited about the DS Lite, but will it be anything like my Micro?
  9. Oh, almost forgot --- Makoto from GITS:STC. Yum.... cyborg hotness!
  10. Sailor Uranus... I know, I'm worried too.
  11. Holy 16 years ago. That's blathering fanboy spew if I ever saw it, but geez... 16 years later?? It's like watching the first episode of Friend's and screaming out to the world that it's the best TV show EVER! Actually worse, since this is MacII we're talking about. It's more like going crazy after having seen "Top of the Heap".
  12. Maybe one of the expert model builders (HWKII, wm.cheng, etc) can give us an overview of basic painting techniques! I mean, I've been building models for almot 23 years, and I still have alot of trouble hand-painting things. I have alot of trouble with Tamiya paints drying on the brush (and scraping off on the next stroke), or with Polly.S paints having very obvious brush strokes. Do I need to prime better? Lightly sand surfaces? Thin the paint? I just don't know!
  13. That scratch build is fantatic! Brings back a lot of memories - I used to play that game for HOURS at a time! Never quite beat it; the final death star attack was too much for me
  14. That's a pretty poo HWR. Where'd you get it? Seems like a very obscure subject. I'd love to see the T-2000 from X-Wing Alliance. That was a pretty ship. Like a symetric falcon with the cockpit pod down the center of the fusalage. Much more stream lined as well.
  15. FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM, WHEREVER THERE'S TROUBLE.... LAND OR SEA OR AIR, GI JOE IS THERE! La-la-la-la-la! They never give up, they never say die! I f'ing love that version of the Joe song! So much rich texture .... A ruthless terrorist organization, determined to rule the world!
  16. You just clicked the button to go to the first post you haven't read. Real good extra. 386354[/snapback] See that right there is what makes it such a bad icon; it's not obvious at all what it's supposed to do, and there's no hinting that you can click on it in the first place. Bad human factors! Bad!
  17. Yah, get rid of those silly minmei's. They are just taking up space on the page, squeezing message titles. What are they supposed to represent?
  18. You know what it is... the Gerwalk is CUTE! Why? It's got floppy limbs. When it goes around corners, you see a little wiggle as the legs come swing around the rear! The Times has a whole article bout this: The Cute Factor @ NYTimes
  19. You know, homophobes are another group who seem to care so much about what other people find sexually stimulating.
  20. I'm a big fan of idealized Gerwalk forms that you see in the Anime or as a gashapon(sp?) toy. It's a great way of showing that this vehical really is a hybrid form. The Yamato 1/48th valk... not so much. It's not bad, but I don't like the way the legs angle. Either it's too far down, or not far down enough.
  21. 18lbs cats??? 27lbs cats??? My fatty's only 9lbs and she's already too heavy! Lately my cat has taken an interest in my modeling table. I come home to find my brush-cleaning water cup tipped over EVERY DAY. She's begun to pull parts off of my Gundam's and bat them around the bathroom, even when I try to hide them inside of masking tape rolls.
  22. I'm familiar with the back-preasure problem. I actually have a regulator/moisture trap on my brush which helps with that problem, though I sometimes have to let some preasure out the brush (or through the tap's escape valve) to get the pump going. In my case, I was running for a good minute before the compressor stopped and never started up again
  23. Thanks for the tips -- It has turned over and started to run for a few seconds before stopping again, so I don't think it's totally dead yet. I did try taking out those 2 long screws, but the cover they hold down wouldn't come off. I'm going to try being more forceful with it tonight; I was a little afraid of pulling something out that I couldn't put back (this is how I broke all my toys as a kid.) Any idea where exactly I should be oiling it? Heres a link to the instructions.. maybe someone can point out some of the part numbers that tend to dry out. http://www.emporiomichelangelo.com.br/paas...manual_D500.pdf
  24. So my 1-year old Paasche D500 "stopped" while I was spraying Future the other day... I really havent used it that much, no more than 10 hours of use over the course of a year. When I power it up it buzzes a bit, and I can see the cooling impeller start to turn but stop immediately. I have a feeling it's clogged with cat hair. Anyone know how I can take it apart to take a look inside?
