  1. with this pic: http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh242/T...1974/017-24.jpg all i can say is... ...that's a really fugly grey gundam next to a VF-1J
  2. oh, we do care. most of us, at least. i reckon it's just that most of us are either too broke coz of other stuff and/or just can't justify the current shitty exchange-rate. especially the shipping-cost for the toy. personally, i will get the Hikaru-1Sv2 once the US-dollar is strong again. eventually.
  3. well, fwiw, the Hikky-1J is really quite boring in both GERWALK and fighter modes. contrast with its kickass Battroid-mode and in Armored GBP-mode. at any rate, i'm not particularly fond of the clown-hands for the 1/60v2 coz I think the normal hands spiffy enough and not chicken-fingers like the 1/48. kinda funny to think that yammie's got the clown-hands for the vf-1j, while bandai got the clown-feet on the vf-25.
  4. nice and sexy. however, I cancelled my order just the other day coz of the continuing horrible exchange-rate.
  5. HLJ just listed the OD, but with no early-bird discount it seems: http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00112
  6. even with the hlj early-bird discount, i'm still passing (again) on the Q-Rau as it's still far too unnecessarily expensive just like when it first came out years ago.
  7. me gots Ironhide and yes, he's blue-faced! found him at the local wally's. he's got a more meticulous transformation process than the other Classics and he's a bit short in botmode. here are the pix: vehicle-mode: his underside with his weapon attached: with Sideswipe for botmode height-comparison: Wish he was made bigger in size ala PowerGlide coz you know, he's the lovable grumpy right-hand man of Prime. But it's all good. For now, at least. oh, and I also saw that new 25th-anniv G1 Prime thingy and totally passed on it. Dull red, cut stacks and all. Dunno how much it was since I didn't even bother picking it up from the shelf.
  8. ooooooooooooohhhhh!!! i really gotta get me the 1D.
  9. ya know, i think we should have another poll. just for the lucky ones (like me) who don't have any issues (broken/fractures/etc) with their Roy-1S v2 since delivery and playing.
  10. whoa! The OD ain't too shabby. I reckon that'll be the exact shade of green for the Spartan, too. If that destroid ever comes out.
  11. Not quite. The original Miria Q-Rau actually was 12,800-yen back in the day. Of course, it included a figure. See http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00030 The original Max Q-Rau was 9800-yen: http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00035
  12. Hah! Olive Drab is official SLDF colors, iirc. Sweet!!! Dunno if I'll be interested in any Camo-colors (urban or otherwise), tho.
  13. Fwiw, I can somehow justify the pricing on the Tomahawk, but just cannot on the Defender. I don't think I can justify the pricing on the Spartan, either, if that ever gets out. I really think Yamato-Toys should significantly lower the pricing on the Defender and other upcoming Destroids.
  14. yeah. I've been seeing a bunch of Acid Storms and Galvatrons for a couple of weeks now or so, and they just don't do it for me. Really meh, afaic. Hope I'll be lucky to find Iron Hide in one of the other wally's. I'm quite meh and not that interested in the Animated-series, but I've also yet to see their Ultra Magnus version.
  15. huzzah!!! my warhammer dropped in today! woo hooo!!! pix!!! standby: alpha-strike: with his Valk-buddies from Macross: a Wolf's Dragoon Timberwolf! friend or foe?: melee with a Clanner, a Dragoon and a Star League mech(s)!: Yes! This Destroid Tomahawk is TEH AWESOMEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! --- obtw, anybody doing or contemplating/planning to do the Black Widow paint-scheme for this mech?
  16. heh! fwiw, I finally found and bought SideSwipe and SilverStreak today. still haven't seen IronHide, tho. --add-- here 'em pix with their bros: btw, i just read the instructions-sheet for Sideswipe and Hasbro's funny again by just recycling Sunstreaker's instruction, complete with the wrong chest-frontal for good ol' Sideswipe robot-mode.
  17. well, ep4 debug actually didn't take long. anyway... dvd-version (ksnapshot): dvd-version (native/unscaled): the rest of the snapshots from kresphy's post remained the same in the dvd-version. jpg-snaps sux. only png-snaps from now on.
  18. I'm gonna use kresphy's snaps from the bugs-thread: dvd-vesion: dvd-version: --- The Ranka-snaps from the Bugs-thread in ep3 were not animation-error since the stitches ("cross") were supposed to be covered by her ribbon that way per her swooning movement. --- I'll see if i can get the ep4-debugs when I get time today.
  19. Philips players are very easy to make region-free like most china-brand players, but it is still a low-end player. May or may not be enough for you. If you want a higher-end dvd-player that's easy to make region-free, get the Oppo brand. A little pricey (avg of $170 and above), but it is one (if not the) best dvd-player right now.
  20. I'm not sure where you got that idea, but Japanese R2-discs do require and enforce region-coding.
  21. I was gonna post in the Total Bugs thread, but it'll just get lost since it already got too many pages on it and that thread is much suited to bug-discovery. So I'm starting the Macross F DEBUG-version!!! A thread where we can post the animation-corrections found in the dvd and/or bd versions. To start off, here's the infamous arm/no-arm shot of the VF-25 in ep2: tv/broadcast-version (prolly upscaled): R2J dvd (native-res/unscaled) version: R2J dvd (xineplayer-scaled) version: dvd time-stamp scene: 00:06:40 unfortunately, I'm not collecting the BD-version anymore, so somebody else has to post the much larger BD-version of this and other snapshots. at any rate, I highly encourage and totally appreciate other MW-members who are also collecting to the dvd/bd of Macross-F to join this snapshot-orgy.
  22. for those interested... pic of the vol-2 of the R2J-dvd stuff (dvd/case/sms-pins): sample-pages of the liner-note: no scanner, so just camera-shots. oh, and i ain't gettin the BD-versions anymore, so somebody else will have to show you what stuff they got in the BD-release of vol-2 and beyond.
  23. yeah. how much is the shipping/handling-cost to the US from HK-sellers for the yammies? from the few times I saw hk-sellers on ebay, the valk-price itself is sweetly low but the shipping/handling to the US is quite astronomically expensive, making HLJ and BBTS seems like bargain-stores in comparison.
