  1. Jetfire was never animated nor included in the G1 tv-series. What you probably remember was the toy-version, which was a recolored/rebadged Takatoku Super VF-1S.

Skyfire was the one in the G1 tv-series. His toy-version didn't happen until the Classics was released just a couple of years ago or so.

  2. well, i finally received my order for the Hikky-1S plus FP-parts.

boy, do HLJ luv shipping it in two boxes:

    hikki1ssep002.th.jpg hikki1ssep004.th.jpg

not really sure why they had to be shipped in two boxes since, well imho, they could've fit both in a single shippiing-box and saved me some additional shipping-fees or something:

    hikki1ssep.th.jpg

oh, well. damage was $132.62 (damn shipping fees), but am still quite happy that i finally have the 1/60 Hikky-1S Strike for a lot less than the normal hlj/msrp.

  3. ok.

i've seen Jetfire leader-class at wally's last sunday. like 8 of them. for something so fugly, it's already all gone by today.

then there was Bumblebee Human Alliance edition for like $30. At wally's. i don't really see anything in it that makes it worth $30.

honestly, aside from Prime-v2, i really dont see anything in the ROTF-line to be purchase-worthy.

as such, i'm still not even sure whether to get Prime v2 or not.

  4. I ended up paying 20$ on the SAL shipping for the vf-1a + sup/str parts dealy. I put the order in on Friday and had it go through on Tuesday with shipping, so turn around time is definetly a few days which isnt too bad

whoa! you only paid $20 for the valk+parts deal? which part of the world are you based?

The SAL-cost for mine was 2960-y for the same deal (1480 per box), which is about US$30 with the current sucky exchange-rate of 95-yen to a US-dollar.

Wonder how much EMS cost for the same deal. iirc, EMS usually starts at 4000-y.

  5. As nice as this sale was, i'm really getting quite ticked off at HLJ for such a painfully slow order processing and shipping.

    I know they're busy, but c'mon!

It's like they're letting my small order (just one valk+parts) sit and stew there until they get a better yen-to-dollar exchange-rate before doing any final processing and final shipping. I mean, I placed and received confirmation on my order when the rate was still at 98.5something.

Now the rate is at 95.77 (and possibly going down more) as of this writing and my order still hasn't final-processed/shipped so i still don't know how much wallet-damage SAL-shipping has dinged me this time. It's funny coz SAL is supposed to be cheap, but the horrid exchange-rate is really making it quite expensive more than necessary.

    *sigh*

  6. I still waiting for that backordered VF-1D but I did decided to get a VF-1S Hikaru but since the one with Strike parts is back ordered I had to make two separate orders of the VF-1S and parts

the sale does not really apply to the Strike-VF1S single-package. unless, of course, it was also previously listed as part of the sale prior to today ala the Defender.

so now we really have to buy 'em separately (parts + valk).

at any rate, the separate-package is a bit cheaper overall, but we'll have to see how much shipping-costs for it (sal and ems).

  7. hot damn!

that VF-11b with the FP looks mighty fantastic in all three modes!

too bad it's still too frickin' expensive at hlj-pricing. @&*($#&%

oh, and honestly, the Yammie-stands looks quite meh.

  8. How good is Inferno's transformation? (I.E., how many parts to move around?)

Inferno's transformation is quite simple than even the deluxes.

The only thing that might make you look at the manual-sheet is how to hide the front tires.

Other than that, it's standard pull and twists/turn, and just fold some door-flaps to expose the arms.

Oh, and the head is spring-loaded! Just pull back the driver-side emergency-light. B))

I do wish his tires were made of rubber instead of plastic, tho. But that would've most likely jacked the price way up.

  9. Yeah, get the...wait a minute! Just because the Tomahawk is bristling with guns and the Defender is a glorified bofors AA gun doesn't mean the Tomahawk is "better".

Okay, I'd get the Tomahawk too. But I'd definitely get the Defender over the Spartan.

    c'mon, dude!

The Spartan's got hands! with fingers! and elbows! and can wield a club or something!

  10. If im only getting one Destroid, should i get the Tomahawk or the Defender ?

    Tomahawk.

It just looks better and more badass. Plus, the Tomahawk's cannons are jointed (ala elbow-style) for better torso-twisting directionality and movement, in contrast to the fixed guns of the Defender.

imho, the Defender is overpriced for the features and stuff you get with it.

  11. Hey guys, with the exception of the ankles which I know I depressed a bit, does my Ozma look transformed properly? I don't want to have a review full of mistransformed toys (nor do I want to review something I don't fully understand) and I haven't been following this thread as well as I should. What really worried me is that the toy had more neck than I anticipated which makes me wonder if maybe I haven't put something in the right spot.

    VF-25%20DX%20Ozma%202.jpg

    Enough neck, you said?

    I dunno, man.

That Ozma you got there is still lookin' like a constipated ewok with its pants hiked up to his chest like an old retiree dude living in Florida anglin' for Flowmax and Viagra commercials.

  12. Ah... but you guys are forgetting one think: the DVD release of DYRL did NOT sell spectacularly well. And that was only a few years ago. It's not worth the time and money to restore it and release it on BD.

Of course, in another couple of years it might be different.

What TheLoneWolf said. I'm very interested in the sales-numbers, too, so please provide the link.

I know it's very difficult to get the box-edition of DYRL-remastered anymore (unless second-hand), while in contrast, the TV-remastered boxset is still available and rather heavily-discounted at both AmazonJapan and CDJapan, 29% and 30% off respectively.

  13. welp!

found the new TF-Uni's earlier tonite at the local Wally's. quite alot of 'em, too.

    SSv2, Cheetor, Cyclonus, and Hound.

I bought Hound and, well, thought Cyclonus ain't too shabby so bought him, too. I skipped SSv2 since I already have the v1 and the new coloring wasn't much of motivation to get v2.

    so, tada:

    stuff008qz8.th.jpg

haven't had the chance to take either one out, yet, since I'm still watching the Fiesta Bowl.

  14. Now that Bandai has started to release their DX line. And, interest in macross is better.

What do you think yamato's next move be?

will they quicken their pace with releases. (vf-11b, re-release their vf-0,...) or will they move with their regular pace?

as already mentioned by others, I want Yamato to do 1/60 versions of the Glaug and the Regult.
