Working on a 1:100 Wave VF-1J fighter. I figured seeing as we all get worried about paint chipping and scratching with transformative models, then the 'real' thing would necessarily have a fair bit from all the moving parts, so that's what's informed the weathering so far.

Had an accident with the 'UN SPACY' decal on the left leg. As you can see it shifted, twisted a bit and I completely lost the 'Y'. Don't know how I'm gonna recover from that. I'll just have to figure something out.  Still a ways to go.

Yeah they are the same, save for the numbers. I have a copy of the blue that I scanned, so I could just try to create the correct numbers in illustrator, but I thought I'd take a shot and ask here. I suppose if someone had a scan of the decals John provided for his 1:48 Legioss I could resize those and make a go of it. Thanks to you and Conectuoso for checking though.

Any got printable scans of the 1:72 Imai legioss Iota (green) decals?

So I just got delivery from Mandarake of this kit:

Cus I needed a 3rd 72nd scale legioss to build up as the Iota for my display.

I was quite pleasantly surprised to find an included booklet of Mospeada settei.

Couldn't say as I don't have any edition of the kit. However Scalemates lists the '84 boxing as having "Updated/new parts" and it is the  "Iron Type" so that terminology may be referring to the coating as "Updated/new"?

Yes I said building your own airbrush. You will need a compressor though.

Its not Macross, but its pretty cool.

Might be easier to print off an image and do a forced-perspective scene in a box behind the 'windows', as it would only be viewable through them.  Plus you could put an led behind the box for lighting.

I think it fits with the retro direction I want to go with these. That kinda cheesy 80's extravagance. Gonna either decal or Stincil the Mospeada title logo on the red Base in black and white. Man I gotta find me another one of these to do up as the green Iota!

Nearing Completion of the Zeta and Eta, I figured it was time to start working on a display base. Found some broken headphones and a plastic Easter egg that went together nicely and came up with this. I was thinking of painting up the pink egg half to look like the earth. What do you think? Too cheesy?

Electric Indigo,  looking solid and smooth ( as always) someday I'll be patient enough in the early stages to get the paint down that smooth.

Made some progress on the Legioss Eta. Just about ready for decals. I'm glad I switched out the lumpy pilot blobs that came with the kit for some modified 1:100 scale figures. I dry assembled one of my Wave 1:100 VF-1 kits to compare and I think the Legioss scales better at 1:100 than the stated 1:72. Anime stats be damned!

MT. Your builds always look museum quality in the level of detail and how clean the lines are. Always inspirational.

Agree completely, really clean colour separation and smooth paint application. Looks real sharp. Are you gonna leave it clean or add some subtle weathering?

Already did. It's somewhere round here. In a box under my work bench I think.

Thanks MT. I really try to avoid using straight black on models. Those 'black' stripes are actually painted on with tamiya sea blue.

Thanks MT. After I posted about the XF-9 I realized it is an acylic and I didn't  want to go with trying to do and acylic panel line wash over fruture. I've yet to be able to do that and get satisfactory results, so I mixed up some Light Rust oil with a little bit of Starship Filth.

Hopefully this pick shows it a bit better.
