  1. still doesn't help us much does it? b'sides, i can't really justify paying so much for an 'action figure' with details and limited articulation as compared to revoltechs. imagine paying 4-5times a revoltech's price for the tomahawk just because it's in scale w the other 1/60 valks. kinda irrational pricing to me. holding off till the price comes down. i kinda believe it's also the middlemen/retailers marking up the price a fair bit.
  2. the arrangement of the white makes it look a lil like a kite but i still like. hehehe. i'd be more tempted to spend on 21's colour variants than the 19's because of the sleek design on the YF-21.
  3. liking the colour scheme of Alto's much better than Ozma's dull gray. but with that kind of pricing (esp if they DO throw in FPs =P), it's not a big deal anymore. muahahahaha!!! is anyone shaking in their boots now?
  4. roflmao. and scolscud's is perfectly fine with both sides having the same pilot name?
  5. definitely looking forward to the Cheyenne as well due to its design being used for both Mac0 and Mac F. but not too sure on getting the Tomahawk because the price pt seems to have been set rather high by the retailers. what features are we exactly talking about that justifies the price?
  6. as much as i like the soldier look of the 19 in the anime, the Yamato simply doesn't carry that feel over properly. as such, i feel the 21 is the more anime-accurate version and loving it more.
  7. the sheryl in mike's latest post is practically spot-on (in terms of absolute beauty =P)
  8. hey Dog, tks for putting up that pic. gonna have to try it out later. i'm so sorry Yamato, i so misunderstood you! (apology retraction subject to successful application of instructions for storing legs in fuselage) =P =P PS. peolesdru, you've a great wife. love her escape plan.
  9. don't completely agree with that comment. the problem seems to lie with the fit of the legs alongside the the shoulder cowls. the legs won't be fully straightened once you have properly fitted them back in. so far, i've only managed to push the hip connectors all the way up, albeit a lil forcefully. even then, it's not a perfect fit for the fuselage covers. some minor issues on mine (could be attributed to my inadequate transforming capabilities): 1. wing joints not as stiff as expected, certainly not squeaky tight but as long as it's not accidentally nudged, oughta be fine. 2. tolerances for the hand pegs to gunpod handles is a lil low as mine slips off at the slightest bumps on both hands 3. as above, the leg fitting issue alongside the shoulder cowls in fighter mode prove to be a major headache. will be anxiously awaiting Graham's TF'ing video 4. lastly, fast pack for the fuselage is un-attachable on one side. may need to file down the clip at the top of the FP in order to make it fit. all in all, some minor issues that prevent it from being a totally QC-free valk but i chalk these up to possible manufacturing QC issues, excluding the leg fit issue. despite all those, this is definitely my favorite valk from Yamato so far. they've definitely done a great deal of justice to this product. i'm already contemplating getting a second once i have spare cash. PS. attached a couple of shots, including the parts-blown-off delimiter mode. pardon my lousy photography.
  10. good to hear from the man himself but since there haven't been much testimonials from others, guess i'll have to wait. but i think some fellow singaporeans have already gotten them and the retailers i visited haven't had any complaints so i may be breaking my wallet soon.
  11. In other words, it's generally QC-free (relative to the 1st batch run)?

    Graham's Sig

I'd say SV-51 and back to YF-21, though it's quite a toss-up between the two for me, even though i know some dislike the SV-51.
  13. great touch-up on the 0A BF, especially the ejector area on the gunpod.
  14. Yeah Graham. That and the probable fact that buying almost every Macross release by Yamato keeps you in their good books In any case, I do agree about the not-so-common-sensical release order but viewing from a business perspective, can't really blame them. Who'd buy the CF 0A after Shin 0A was released earlier? They probably took a hint from the 1/48 CF 1A sales, it being among the last few canon valks to be released. Having said that, I'm glad I didn't rush out to get the 0A. In fact, I'm still waiting for a proper 2nd run of the 0S and will probably wait for the giftset to come along before making a move. Hope the yen grows weaker against the dollar!!!
  15. according to what i remember (my memory fails me from time to time so don't blast me if i'm wrong) but i think Graham mentioned that the 2nd batch of 0S for sale was actually part of the 1st run but as to when the 2nd run will actually come along, i'm not so sure. it could be sometime after 0A comes along? we'll have to let Graham clarify this if he has time. i think there was some mention that the actual 2nd run would be in Jan 2007 but i have doubts that it'll take that long to restart another run for the rather popular Zero series.
  16. jenius, i think Deckard mentioned in this or another thread that he uses photoshop to clean up blemishes or odd colourations.
  17. i HATE you and your pristine collection of vintage valks (& mospeadas too)!!! but that's just my jealousy acting up. great pics of a great vintage piece. Deckard's pics are like those of a professional toy photographer. all we need is a great camera with good lighting and a dedication to cleaning up your photos. btw, the Super Stealth battroid pics look a little grainy. ^^
  18. so far, there's no surefire way of identify a 1st or a 2nd run 0S. your best bet would be to ask the retailer and hope he's honest with you. as for floppiness, it tends to occur in the 1st run and sparingly. i would say probably like 30-40% of the time?
  19. agreed. there really isn't a reason for Yamato to hold back on new runs given that the demand could rise any time with more macross fans influencing others rookies to buy in as well. i'm holding off the 0S still, as there's no reason the 0S will stop production, especially with the anime series' exposure to a larger fanbase/audience. having said that, i guess i'll probably wait for 2nd run or at least till a verdict has been arrived on whether the 1st run has a decent passing rate in terms of QC problems.
  20. remember that the VF-0 and the VF-1 both have similar CAD design foundations so it's not as expensive to produce the 0 as compared to redesigning almost from scratch for the 19. be grateful we're getting it guys. i gripe about the price as well because the current pricing for the 19 is what we would usually expect of a super vf-1 but i guess it's a tradeoff and that we can only hope the FP set with fold booster later won't be as expensive as we can't afford. i think the main problem especially for US consumers is the shipping costs that's directly affecting the price you guys can get. us Asians and even Australians get to have them cheaper, probably like US$170.
  21. i guess the VF-11 is more popular because it'll be easier to redesign and put out than the 21? maybe if Yamato were good, they'd have the money from VF-11's sales to fund the improvement of the 21's design. ^^
  22. you really shouldn't be surprised. there're i think almost as many otakus in Japan as Macross fans in... say... the whole of Asia or even the world combined? i'm guestimating of course =P you could check out this lovely japanese drama called Densha Otoko and you'll see how huge the otaku community is. great haul there wolfx with the great pictures of the YF-19 and the FP 0A. thanks. btw, there's a great blog-site by a person who's affiliated with the press somehow, lots of nice photos of the two events i think: http://www.dannychoo.com/blog_entry/eng/604/C3+X+HOBBY/
  23. i've been collecting 1/48's mostly for the TV series (despite the lack of accurate TV VF-1As or elbows) so if a much-improved version of the 1/60 comes along at a reasonable price (very important), I'd start collecting for the DYRL? line especially if they rework the every valk that was in DYRL?.
