  1. check it out: http://www.transformersource.net/forums/in...p?showtopic=215 I think he looks pretty nice, definitely better proportioned than previous multiwing transformer attempts.. hoping those aren't anywhere near his final colours though.
  2. Wow... there is no way I would pay 80 dollars for that... it's small, it looks poorly made, the opaque canopy is a joke. It's one thing to pay that much for an import toy... but for a home grown toy? fuhgetaboutit.
  3. For those people saying the 1/100 is not accurate... what parts of it are so off? I'm looking at some pics of published vf-0's and the 1/100 seems pretty darn close to me... especially when you consider that is an early build and graham tells us that the current one is more accurate...
  4. I'm kinda torn on this one... I like the early sculpt so far and the idea of swapping out some parts is okay-ish with me. I actually prefer the part swap to a chunky swing bar - but if there is a larger/perfect transformation version in the works I think I will be passing. I like the VF-0 design enough to spend the money. I do wish yamato would keep their toys in the same scale rather than same physical size. It would make my geeky heart happy!
  5. I am just so completely underwhelmed... he looks like a horrible bastadrization of a VF-1j. Does anyone else think this new energon line is just awful so far, or is it just me? At least the new galvatron/megatron looks pretty cool. My issue with shockwave and most of the other energon toys... 1. they don't have hands... they have clubs for arms with a hole in em for sticking things colored transparent plastic things in. 2. The colors are so garish and kindergarden... bright yellow, bright purple, they're like teletubies that transform. 3. lazy transformations... ironhide's head is just sitting there in truck mode! At least the binaltech/alternator line is here... otherwise, I think I would be with graham and ditch the transformer line.
  6. In order to fight the devastating power of the multipling threads, the heroic Moderators have been given the amazing power to Superlink! What new and amazing powers will these combined threads have! Collect them all and find out!
  7. Dude, that mustache was cool! I like the 1/100 vf-10 sculpt.. it's looking pretty nice so far.
  8. I just hope the binaltech/alternator line keeps the focus on accurate car modes and good/articulated robot modes and not gimmicks... like energon. I still say Tracks is looking way too energon right now.. he reminds me too much of energon hot shot with a skirt and shoulder pads.
  9. Actually, Gainax is very much involved with the decision making on the project according to Wizard or Newtype.. one of those mags...
  10. Yeah, transformation seems very Mach Alert, but I'm talking about the blockyness and the garish colours.. I'm really hoping that the yellow is prototype color only.
  11. hmm, I dunno... I think I wanna wait for some final pics first... it's looking a little too energon for me right now.
  12. Yeah, the rear lamps on smokescreen looks like it's two parts, back detail and a clear cover, sideswipe's looks like it's just clear plastic with sparkle paint... I dunno, maybe this is how the viper actually looks? That is very true, sideswipe is more faithfull to his G1 version than Smokescreen.... And his arms are pretty well made, some good mobility there but his gun doesn't stay in his hand very well. Not as bad as MPC prime but I wish it had a little peg like on smokescreen. my biggest complaint is with his legs though... the grill on the back of his feet limit movement and thought he has knee joints they're pretty much useless since you can really move his thighs except side to side and the body work on his lower legs limits how far back they bend. All in all, I like this alternator line... I think I'll pass on hound... waiting for Jazz and some decepticons.
  13. Oops, sorry I misunderstood you. The bumper never bothered... but now that you mention it... he does lonky kinda funky like this. Oh well, I can't say I care too much for how he looks in either the official or alternate mode. I pretty much keep him in car mode and leave it at that. And did you notice his read lights are pretty weak compared to the lamps on smokescreen?
  14. Well, that's why you need to break out a hobby knife some good wire cutters and a lot of patience... if you cut out a section of the hinge on the trunk to allow the black bar to pass through you can get the wheel wells on the trunk to fit over the shoulder joint on sideswipe and then he doesn't look so ridiculous.
  15. picked mine up at the santa ana wal-mart in southern california. He was with the diecast cars and not the other transformers, spotted smokescreen with the legos as well. The folks at wal-mart don't seem to care very much where they shove things. I have to agree, the colour is much more muted compared to smokescreen... looks very plasticy to me. I modified my side swipe for the alternate transformation mode and find that he is more stable and I think looks a whole lot better than the official mode.
  16. I have the VF-1a hiakru (1st edition) and the 1s roy (reissue) they both have stress marks on the right leg only... they seem pretty minor since my roy has it and I haven't transformed it too much, I'm wondering if the defect was made during maunfacturing...
  17. my first valk: jetfire, then a joke machine.... and for a long time nothing.... then the 1/72 yf-19 2.0!!! my latest valk aquisition: 1/48 VF-1s focker reissue must get 1/48 VF-1j next... unless I see some mac zero pics soon!
  18. I haven't gotten mine yet... sob... kevin ran out so I ordered mine from toynk... But... I prefer the more accurate robot mode for prime over a more accurate cab. For me, when I think of Prime, I see a big red robot his truck just isn't as important. Then again, I was looking at some pics of MPC prime and original prime and was thinking to myself that the fuel tanks seem awfully far back. heh. 5 more days till UPS drops off prime! woo hoo!
  19. Definitely get at least 1 of these... years from now, you'll only regret it. I got the hikaru 1a when it first came out.. I haven't had any breakages, leakages or yellowing or any of the myriad problems people complain about... I transform it at least once a week... as long as you're careful and respectful of the thing it will do just fine. And definitely get the fast pack for this thing... the fast packs are a thing of beauty. You won't be sorry. Well, maybe you'll be sorry because you'll want to get another one... and then another one... sigh.

    News Drought

eh, they're just toys really. I figure whenever they (the companies) get around to releasing them, there will be so much noise here I shouldn't miss em. Besides, I thought yamato was being more tight lipped since some news that wasn't supposed to be released got out...
  21. Huh, Iloved the movies... I thought they were a fantastic translation from book to film... I do like the extended versions over the theatrical releases as well though.
  22. Has anyone come up with a little arm bracket for our 1/48's so we can mount two more of these guys in fighter mode? Heh... I wanna see a missile only variant.
  23. my result: you know the two towers very well! you must have seen it at least 7 times , you should be very proud of yourself, go treat yourself to another viewing! oh and you may have noticed , boromir is my favourite character.
  24. Well, once the ring is destroyed and the orc army starts to run, the humans want to press the attack but Gandalf tells them to stand where they are and then a big earthquake occurs, the tower falls, the orc army runs around as if they had gone mad, throwing themselves into pits, killing each other, running back to the east, or surrendering... they don't actually all get swallowed up like in the movie...

    1/48 stickers?

I have takatoy stickers, and they're awesome... you can actually make out words and details, plus the colours are way more vibrant and crisp... the only pain is you have to cute the stickers out, not too hard it you have a good straight edge and a sharp Xacto knife. but the round ones, like for the kite emblem can be a real pain. Oh, and if there was any misalignment of the printer heads, sometimes there are unintentional white borders around the graphics that you have to trim... but maybe they fixed this with their new runs... dunno... but well worth the money, if you love your 1/48 you'll dish out the money for a custom sticker sheet.
