  1. I was showing my kid masterpiece soundwave. He thought the bot mode was really cool. Then we transformed soundwave and my kid asks, "He transforms into a box?" I felt so, so, so very old.
  2. just FYI. the 1/48 molds degraded pretty significantly over its lifetime. The early releases were tight and crisp. The stuff coming out towards the end of the run had noticeable fit issues as well as messy seam lines
  3. because the toy has massively compromised proportions compared to the original show? The 1/55 was never designed to fit a pilot either, so deciding to pick that as your "official" vf-1 design over the line art or the more modern toys that do incorporate a pilot figure is disingenuous. The argument that the 1/55's transformation "works" is bogus as well. It doesn't follow the onscreen transformation for either gerwalk or battroid.
  4. You havent pulled the cockpit portion out far enough. It should be flush and match up with the chest plate. Then the diecast plate will fit correctly
  5. I'm sure David can better answer this but between the thrust vectoring on the feet and the vernier ring on the "cuffs" there's really no reason why the 19 series really needs the horizontal stabilizers in the first place. I think the yf-19 and P got them to make them easier to handle, the yf-19 because it was an already difficult to control prototype and P because it was being put into service in the boonies and the pilots out there weren't "elite"
  6. agree with anime52k8. If you're gonna try to get a "real" scale for the vf-1, you shouldn't start with one of the most compromised versions of the vf-1 as your starting point.
  7. FYI, the screw covers on the vf-19 are DEEP. There's no way to pry them out without seriously damaging the surrounding plastic. You can only drill them out. The vf-19 legs were not designed to be taken apart.
  8. You must have a different definition of "little" compared to the rest of us.
  9. at this point, with supplies dwindling and folk making a mad dash whatever remains? Anything you can.
  10. I actually started the whole trilogy over. Did two runs through ME1 to get lvl 60, and a single run through ME2 and then ME3. Stopped right before Sanctuary, which is when bioware announced the extended endings. Then I just waited till all the DLCs were out and then finished. I only got the BSG reference because I had just marathoned the series. edit: the weapon packs and new abilities breaks the game. Insanity on ME3 with a harrier and dominion or flare isn't very difficult and I found myself cutting down banshees and brutes like they were nothing.
  11. shaorin, do you have the hip transformed correctly? Looks a little stretched out there.
  12. the speakers are there because the lower half of the shoulder pauldron is taken from the kai. It isn't supposed to open. If you notice, there's no pin at the hinge and there's glue all over it that is supposed to keep it together.
  13. that's what rumble frenzy said someone in the know told him on facebook. That post got deleted a short time after. edit: personally, I'm hoping for a new dinobot combiner. The one with the wings at the end looks like it could have pterosaur wings.
  14. heh, the passenger side of that dash looks like a big smiling frog face. Once your headlights have gone yellow, there's nothing you can really do. Buffing off the yellowing works but since all the UV treatment has been stripped, the exposed plastic will yellow much faster than it had originally. You can coat it with a UV protectant but it's never really the same.
  15. Gotta agree with Kurisama. I do the think the transformation is interesting but the bot mode is hideously compromised. The proportions just look comically off.
  16. I'm a fan of samsung's hardware, but their UI guys suck... and maybe the japanese did think of it, but samsung is korean.
