  1. Wow @that trailer. Getting definite Appleseed vibes from those armor suits. The helmet looks like the Guges head: And the knobs on the shoulder armor remind me of the knobs you frequently see on shoulder/knee pads in manga: The enemy space ship looked a lot like the big ship from Gall Force:
  2. I think I like the proportions of the old Zillion toy better than this new one. In the new Tricharger's vehicle mode, the shield doesn't even begin to hide the arms. And the wheels seem to stick out more in robot/armor mode.
  3. Truth! But hope springs eternal.
  4. I love how instead of Lego actually releasing something new, they're just releasing more licensed stuff in different scales. Already released 23 different X-wing sets? No problem, release a mini scale trench run! Already produced 50+ different Star Wars pilot minifigs? No problem, make a large scale X Wing pilot helmet! Already released 38 different Harry Potter sets with the title character included as a minifig? No problem, release a large-scale buildable Harry Potter "minifig"! Like JHC can I get just one effin' non-NASA Space set?
  5. These are just unbelievably good. Better than anything Hasbro has done in the last 20 years, by far. Too bad they're $50 a pop!
  6. That would make a cool SNOT wing edge on a UCS-style Classic Space set.
  7. Yep, it really sucks. I was thinking about this, and I think the Classic Space issue is a lot simpler than people realize. Disney has a licensing agreement with Lego for Star Wars, obviously. They get money for each SW Lego set sold. If Lego sold regular Space sets, that would obviously compete directly with SW, so each Space set, to Disney, would be money lost. Obviously you can't have a license agreement like that. Space is simply forbidden while Lego has Star Wars, as part of the licensing agreement. That's the only way the licensing agreement could possibly work. And it's even worse now that there's Lightyear. There's undoubtedly a very detailed contract outlining what Lego can and cannot do in terms of competition with Disney sets, and NASA sets are obviously exempt, while sci-fi Space is not.
  8. Whoa. Apparently the above character is Mandora from Thundercats. Never seen her before. She looks really cool though!
  9. I bought that book just for a better look at those! Yeah, love Project A-ko. The mecha, the characters, the action. It's top notch.
  10. For some reason this reminded me of the crappy Battleforce 2000 "Combined" mode where the vehicles "combined" into a base by setting them next to each other. Remember that? That included a little pod too!
  11. Yep, ramshackle buildings seem to be the in thing. I think there's a strong lemming effect, where once a submission is approved, we get a lot of copycat submissions. Ramshackle fishing shop? How about ramshackle tree house? Ramshackle pirate island? Ramshackle blacksmith shop? Ramshackle dwarf house? And people answer "yes". That's the worst part. They vote in those things over and over. Why? I find it hard to believe that the people just demand more dilapidated rooftops. I think it's just the lemming effect. They want to vote for a winner. So they vote for whatever won last time. It's bad enough that the Lego designers even had to start removing the drab & busted roof tops from submissions. Compare the original Blacksmith Shop submission to the released set and you'll see what I mean.
  12. So I got my Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow two pack and was pleasantly surprised that Hasbro didn't just slap together these figures from whatever old molds they had on hand including the wrong parts like they have in the past. I guess they really are just recreating the molds completely. I haven't removed them from package and can't speak to the build quality.
  13. Will definitely be watching this. I loved Get Out, and enjoyed Us.

These things are not mutually exclusive. I love M7 music generally and hate Planet Dance.

Between this and the Tread, it's gonna be a bad time to have a mortgage in California.
  16. There we go. More retro o-ring figure two packs. I'll gladly scoop some up. I still predict major Hasbo f*** ups, but we'll see.
  17. Anyway, this happened in the old Genesis: Legend of Zor comics: I don't have the actual comics so I don't know how much more actual fighting is depicted.
  18. And speaking of the Sentinels: Malcontent Uprisings, how amazing is this cover?
  19. Man, I could have sworn I've seen images of Zentraedi fighting the Invid. Can't remember if it was in the old Sentinels comics, or Malcontent Uprisings, or Genesis. Or maybe some Kevin Long art from the RPG books. Or maybe I'm conflating things. It's been so long. But anyway, if the little Invid Scouts can fight Alpha and Beta fighters, they can fight Zentraedi soldiers. The Alpha is only a meter shorter than a Zentraedi anyway. Or just fudge the scales, who cares? It's Robotech. 😁 And as lame as Robotech is, now I'm wanting to read those old Eternity comics again. The art was pretty good for a while. I remember the art took a steep dive eventually -- the Waltrips appeared to just stop caring and really started phoning it in. I must have been about 13 when it happened, but I noticed!
  20. No butt armor. Because this is an anime figure and you gotta have the exposed butt. 🙄🤢
