    Interesting to read this and to see what Kawamori-san felt was the most important elements to retain. I always felt though, from a childhood wish fulfillment perspective, that the story should incorporate some combat scenes on Earth. To me, it would be more entertaining to see things happening in the world we live in (or a near future that resembles it). Although with his ARK style Macross with different biomes I suppose it could be almost comparable.

    Can anyone confirm what publication this page is from? Is it This is Animation # 10? Also, Who is this bad mofo? And what branch is that uniform for? I wish I could translate the text.

    I'd like to try my hand at making this costume, but I may be in over my head. I have no experience with engineering or sculpting, but I think the idea is sound. I'm just unsure of how difficult it would be, not to mention how expensive, to make such large pieces. And what is the best material to work with? Resin? Fiberglass? Any advice?

    This is the one we all see throughout the series. Is the explanation that they were originally on the Daedalus and hence the "D" and the tools of a skilled craftsman, the Hammer and Torch. Did the Destroids originally on the Macross have their own insignia? And I would assume this is for Macross City civil defense. Are there any others throughout the series? Did any of the models/toys have other insignia's?

    I acutally John Cusack's fights in War Inc. and Grosse Pointe Blank. They seem rough yet believable. In particular, the school hallway fight in GPB and the chateau fight in War Inc. I like how he uses the empty gun to block punches.

    With a week before Halloween I had no idea what to be and then decided on Alan Scott Green Lantern. My sister made the mask out of leather. Pants and shirt are from a thrift store. Symbol is an iron on transfer from an image found online. Cape form a pattern, sewn by my wife. Lantern from walmart, painted. Enjoy.

    Watching it again, I just noticed: Concert on earth (nighttime) Guld & Isamu arrive in Macros City fighting (daytime) Ghost attacks (dusk) Battle between Guld / Ghost & Isamu / Sharron (nighttime) Isamu lands and talks with Myung (sunrise) Damn. They been flying those planes for a while!

    Ep. 23 - Alto reprimands his squad member for breaking the Valkyrie Pilot Jinx (teasing someone about a woman during operations). Reminiscent of Kakizaki in DYRL? Ep. 24 - This one is a bit of a stretch. During Ranka's flashback, while being put in the escape pod and then seeing her reflection in the multifaceted eye of a Vajra, the music is similar to the Sharon Apple concert and makes me think of Sharon's distorted HAL eye.

    Sorry 'bout that. I didn't mean to sound elitist, but I guess I didn't realize how many people don't have this book. And if you don't, there isn't anywhere else you would see these images. So here's my contribution. Note the Pegus..I mean Megaroad/SDF-1 original design I always liked this proposed Destroid swapout. This would be a cool variant for the 1/60 version toy that just came out. :Edit for image blunders.:

    So if Macross 21 is Galaxy and 25 is Frontier, what is Macross 7? And yes I realize any name would be a retcon. Does the name reflect the destination or overall purpose of the colony? Or can we say they don't get names because they're not shown with names in the animated graphic at the beginning of Ep 1?

    Not sure if anyone noticed, but if you go through the colony expansion in slow-mo, you can see that Megaroad-04 (SDF005) is the colony that founded Eden. Date looks like 2013. Then it looks like 10 ships/colonies spidered out from there. Is that new info? The date that Eden was colonized?

    I was looking through my local comic shop's random back issue box and I found Protoculture Addicts # 7 from 1990. Page 14 has this image I have never seen before. I was wondering, is this from This is animation? And what purpose does it serve? Looks too well done to be a Sentinels creation to me. Am I wrong?
