I longed for high quality Orguss mechs for a loooooong time. I'm grateful that my holy grail was handled by Megahouse as opposed to Evolution with the VF-2SS... my heart cries out to all who have waited for that one the way I waited for this. ... <--- (moment of silence) It was worth every dollar. This certainly makes me hopeful for a CF and for enemy mecha to (Ni)kick it with my Orguss. Bronco II and some Emaan and Chillum "devices" in the plain ol' Variable Action line would be wicked sweet too. I can dream, can't I? A SDFM VF-1A version of the Hi Spec would be sweet too.

Most of my collection these days is 1/20-1/24 scale toys and models. I would be in SO MUCH trouble with my wife if I ever brought a 1/20 scale VF-1 into this house... so how to proceed...

...sooo... we missed out on, nothing? Seriously, this (mis)treatment removes everything Macross about the story and added everything one would expect from a formulaic generic Hollywood sci-fi script. I'm usually open minded about changes and new things, but this is just too gods-damned far. For once, hooray for failure!!!

The big ones are fun, but they cost so much my blood pressure is always a little too high where my 1/60-(DX) collection is concerned. I'm about three solid SDFM HMR announcements away from doing just this.

Just a quick update: HLJ offered a refund, exchange or 10% credit. I remember reading that Arcadia does not supply replacement parts which is why (I assume) is the reason that HLJ can't offer me one. I believe that they do everything they can and IMO they are truly top notch when it comes to service!

Thank you guys. I have a lot of faith in HLJ so we'll see what happens. I'm not sure if I should transform it or not. If HLJ asks me to send the whole toy back then it's best to leave it alone, but if they agree to send a new canopy then it behooves me to put it through it's paces during that 10 day window. I'll wait a day or two for them to respond I suppose.

HLJ. The part's been photographed on and off of the plane. and emailed to HLJ's trouble dept. I am hopeful and this is why I always get my high dollar stuff through them. Hopefully they will only want me to send them the broken part.

My Strike arrived today via My Kombini - Decently packed and prompt enough service that I'd buy from them again.

Hollow pins are called "roll pins." a decent hardware or tool store should carry some.

I pulled the trigger with them on a Strike Valk, their service seems to be okay, but I'm still waiting for the mail to get it to me. Tracking in Japan was fine, but then it seems to have been swallowed up in Los Angeles

My Kombini has the GBP and Strike in stock. Marked up a little, but not as bad as NY. *They marked 'em up since yesterday. and the 1J is sold out joiks.

The original Bandai 1/100's from the late 80's had integrated landing gear. granted they were a bit crude but they got the job done and you didn't have to carry heat shield and landing gear around... the gun pod didn't mount in fighter mode though. :/ For the record, I would prefer crude landing gear and a simple rotating 2 sided canopy like the original joke machines from the 80's Those two things would make the HMR's perfect IMO
