  1. Maybe it's a good thing I haven't read the mangas. Rail Wars is taking up a lot of my attention right now anyway.
  2. SAO II not as engaging as I thought it would be... close to dropping it. Sux because I really loved the first season.
  3. Man... that looks pretty sweet. I'm dying to see it with the leg wings extended and with a weapon.
  4. I really dug how quirky the manga and anime were, and Shirow's art and character designs were always great. I bought that VHS for 40 bucks from the now defunct Suncoast Video at my local mall. That strip tease scene with the cops was pretty funny.
  5. I wouldn't doubt it. A while back, before Frontier came out, I did a googled Macross/Robotech cosplay and a lot of the images were from Latin American blogs and I found a few sites that covered Robotech conventions down there. I think they recently did a concert thing for Love, Live, Alive with the guy that did Yellow Dancers songs- I have no interest in L*L*A after suffering through Shadow Chronicles.
  6. I'm pretty sure Robotech still has a fairly large following in South America- and I'm talking young fans too, not just old dudes.
  7. I just got reunited with Haruhiko Mikimoto Illustrations after over ten years of separation...

  8. A lot of my friends are really into Black Lagoon right now so I'll give it a chance. Outlaw Star was good, but it was overshadowed by BeBop when it was on Adult Swim back in the early millenium. That's one I wouldn't mind revisiting.
  9. I still have my Orgus OVA VHS tapes! I need to find them on DVD/Blu-ray. Discotek huh?
  10. I made it through Aquarion through the strengths of the mechs alone. I don't remember much of the plot except for some feral dude who wasn't really feral and a weird Luke-and-Lea type thing going on. But gyahd the mechs looked so damn cool. I love how the combined robots differed depending on who was the lead ship.
  11. Sakamichi no Apollon was a pleasant surprise. I'm not really big on slice of life period pieces but I thought this one was done brilliantly. I recently ran through Samurai Champloo; that one never gets old for me.
  12. I'm feenin' for some ramen!

  13. I have to admit, Sakurai and Iwaizumi are my favorites and the show is really pretty to look at. I need something light anyway after the last few shows I've watched and this one looks like it can be fun. The general consensus here is to stick with it so I'm sure I will- you guys haven't steered me wrong! Yet!
  14. I picked up volume 1 at the San Diego Comic-Con and then found the other two on sale for 10 bucks each at Books Nippan during the mid-90's. We used to make pilgrimages to Los Angeles a few times a month to cruise the anime and comic shops. Good times, good times...
  15. That Shadow (Legioss) and Beta (Legioss butt-attachment) fighter look so out of place...
  16. Okay, if it wasn't for the production values and kickass opening and closing themes, Rail Wars might have lost me at two episodes in. It's pretty stupid but in an enjoyable way. Lets see how long I last... Because fan service.
  17. Just finished Arpeggio of Blue Steel and it was pretty good. I highly recommend it for a quick fix, the naval battle stuff was handled extremely well. Pretty curious to see how Terraformars goes.
  18. Gotcha! It's had some cool moments but the plot hasn't really grabbed me and I find the kid kind of annoying. P.S.- Location: In your Yasha = brilliant.
  19. If they made a Riding Bean Road Buster/figure set *HELLO FIGMA* I would make it rain on whatever vendor carried it. Percy and the Shelby Cobra would be a great bonus. Along with the Gunsmith Cats.
  20. I've been hoarding the Kill la Kill final episode, for no particular reason but I will probably finally screen it this weekend. I'll be finishing Arpeggio of Blue Steel today and moving on to SAO II and Rail Wars. I'm trying to get into Claymore, but so far, it's losing me...
  21. I honestly think the SD version looks sexier.
  22. I finished the series in one sitting and I plan on watching it again soon with the English dub just because. But episode 4... dang.
  23. Mine too and he just keeps getting better. It's pretty cool to see his evolution as an artist from the early 80's to the present. The moment I found out Macross the First were Mikimoto books, I went straight to eBay.
