Since E.Y.E.S. of Mars was mentioned earlier in this topic, I'm guessing we can include animated sci-fi as well. so I'm just going to say it : Robotech Shadow Chronicles. I loved Robotech growing up, heck I'm still a fan of the Robotech versions of Macross and Mospeada. But man, storywise, Shadow Chronicles just seemed to drag on, I must have dozed off atleast 5 different times trying to watch the movie,and when i woke up it was finished and I'd have to start over again since I couldnt remember the parts I had seen, It was that forgettable. Eventually I was able to finish the movie. it didnt help that the CGI battle scenes were so terrible looking.As a fan I really wanted to like it, but no matter what, there was just nothing, no feeling of excitement, no anticipation of what comes next, just nothing.
For the record I dont think EYES of Mars was that bad.

The Manga dub. However, I am intrigued as to what they are going to do about Episode 4, since the English dub audio that was released for that in Japan was a completely different dub to the one released internationally. Some actors reprised their roles, but for starters Bryan Cranston was replaced by David "Solid Snake" Hayter.
My guess is that they will do what they did with the first DVD box set releases and have 1-3 be the Manga dub and put their own one on 4.
I'm curious as to what this alternate episode 4 with solid snake sounds like? I have the US release VHS and manga dvds and as far I know its the same Isamu on all of them...Which Macross Plus DVD set is it on? Hd remastered?Japan only release? anyone have maybe a youtube clip or maybe something along those lines of it? Is it considered better or worse than the Manga release?

Have you tried Frank & Sons? Located in city of industry. There are a are quite a few vendors that sell anime stuff. They're open Wednesday 3-9 pm and on Saturday 9-5.

Bringing this thread back from the dead, I was hoping that bernard or benson or rapierdragon would still have these scans.i recently picked a loose matchbox sdf1 and was hoping to get a scan of the sticker sheets as well as the instructions for their placement. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

TOYNK should be on the list. I tried to buy a Masterpiece Beta/Tread through Amazon.com. thought it was a great deal for 79.99+7 shipping. Even showed up as "shipping soon" day after i ordered it. the last day for the estimated delivery date came and went and nothing showed up. The status stayed "shipping soon" the whole time. Now, I'm very patient when it comes to shipping, so i just gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured they shipped it and didnt update the status. I tried to contact them after the last day and no response till after i got amazon involved. Then TOYNK's response was "were sorry to say that we have oversold this product and do not have it in stock" and then they cancelled my order. What ticks me off more is not that it wasnt in stock, i could have lived with that. It's that they didnt try to notify right away that it wasnt in stock. 2 weeks and not one notice from them. they even put a hold on my credit card which wasnt lifted until a week AFTER they cancelled my order. What's even more shady is after they notified me of the cancellation of my order, all of a sudden the Beta shows up again on Amazon.com showing"only 1 left order soon" I mean really..WTF??
After further checking them out, i saw they were on EBAY too, trying to sell the same Masterpiece Beta albeit for for more money than Amazon. theyre listed as a power seller but almost 275 negative feedbacks in last 30days even more in the lst year.most of the complaints were similar to mine, item not in stock and never notified. lesson learned for me, i should have researched them more.
so yeah, TOYNK, buyer beware

Had a great time at the Con. got to meet alot of cool people and was even lucky enough to win a raffle prize!! First time I ever been to a Macross Convention, hopefully wont be the last. For me the Highlight was Mari's concert and autograph signing. Never knew she was so comedic, she just kept making everybody laugh! Thanks again to all the promoters and organizers of the event. I posted a few pics in the gallery section under conventions.

oh man i didnt see this post until now.. i had just registered for my wife to go with me..i didnt know she was going to be able to get the day off that day until now. hopefully her pre registration can still go through. if not, how much is it for those at the door who couldnt pre register?

Are we suppose to receive a confirmation e-mail after registering? I may have possibly registered twice cause i dont think i ever received an email when i originally registered and then I started second guessing myself if I ever registered at all in the first place..

The first uses the preliminary art, while the second uses the final art. Given the prices there, I'd reccomend going through a proper import shop.
thanks for the info! yeah the ebay prices a pretty steep, i found a local store thats selling for 95, i figure thats about the same as buying from importers+shipping plus i wouldnt have to wait for the item to arrive. still shopping around for the best price though

are there any differences between these 2 besides the cover and disc art? the second one seems to have the LE box art but is being sold separately. can anyone please confirm if thats the only difference?

I was hoping there would be a Nanase Matsuura figure other than the petit collection figure . I have a few figures of Ranka, Sheryl and Klan, but no Nanase. I know her and Luca were more of the supporting characters, but it'd be nice to have a 1/6ish style to go with the rest of the figures.

sorry i got the 25,700 on the main page. theres 2 prices on the image, 26,985 and next to it 25,700.
also when i said it was on par with frontier valks , i was referring to the renewals and ebay prices. all are above $300

Actually 26,985 as the image says... sorry I got the message before the image went up on Yamato's page.It's the price of TWO Bandai Frontier valks (or one off of eBay).
Frontier valks are less than 20k yen, unless you consider the scalped prices.

price seems to be on par with bandai's Frontier valks, and since its suppose to be exclusive i guess thats why the price is that high. even then, i'm sure it will sell.heck, i would buy it if i had the funds for it, hehe.

I thought HG wasnt allowed to make any new material using the likeness of the original characters/macross stuff? Hence the reason for Rick Hunter looking nothing like he did in Shadow Chronicles vs the macross saga. I mean look at Roy, even with the eye patch, that's obviously Roy.
