  1. Kids in my elementary school were only familiar with the franchise because of the Matchbox toy commercials. πŸ€• Liking Robotech was never cool. πŸ˜’
  2. I'm afraid her brother would object to that. 😬 I wish I'd bought a third myself... 😐 This, yeah. ☝️
  3. Ten years since EXO announced his "Mars Base Marauders," I finally have a painted set to display. I was pleased to discover how consistent 1:48 Mospeada figures scale, regardless of manufacturer. ☺️ Next up: Invid royalty!
  4. I've never built a Hasegawa Battroid. Are they really so poorly articulated? 🀨
  5. Wow, thanks for all the encouragement! Given the positive response, I'll share an additional pic I didn't post earlier: The "Hemorroids" were usually seen aboard the Zor ships, and much less frequently on Biovers, whereas Bug Face was ONLY seen fighting on Biovers... ...so Bug Face gets the sled. ☺️
  6. Moscato Hobby models are rare, expensive, and valuable kits, and should not be treated like toys. However, boys will be boys... ...and boys play with toys. ☺️ At least, before they're painted. πŸ˜… Speaking of which... Despite wild variations in animation quality, the anime coloring is a consistent two-tone brown: ...and much of the merchandising reflects this color scheme. However, dark green variants are also common. So, brown or green, dirty or clean, your cannons will be canon. There are also two different uniform colors depicted: ...just in case you were wondering. πŸ˜‰ And, for those who may be wondering, here's how Tommy Boy scales with 1:60th, 1:100th, or 1:144th Tomahawks. πŸ€“
  7. I may add more decals and panel-lining later, but for the time being I'm calling the Biopsycher done. ☺️
  8. I would argue exactly the opposite. The HMR Regults are demonstrably too small, so I use the Hasegawas for HMR displays. The HMR Regults (and Glaug) scale much better with the Revoltech Valkyries.
  9. Nah, animation model sheets frequently have much greater detail than what gets animated... and just as the TV design was only slightly tweaked for Do You Remember Love?, the markings were largely unchanged as well:
  10. Well, I saw no reference to any characters from Picard, but... who's complaining? πŸ˜‰
  11. I know, those are just promotional pics that have undoubtedly been Photoshopped up the wazoo, but it's still damned impressive model work.
  12. Nah, everything points to an awkwardly incompatible 1:67 or so... πŸ€•
  13. Seeing as the Phalanx and the Defender share the same lower half as the Tomahawk, much of the work is already done: As I'm sure you've already noticed, the only details unique to each have been molded as separate parts... Clearly, our reliable Cap'n has been thinking ahead. If another Destroid were to be produced by Moscato, my money would be on a Phalanx. It was ignored by Yamato, Arcadia AND Bandai, meaning there's likely to be greater demand for it than a Defender (whether at 1:48 or 1:60). πŸ€”
  14. Is to too harsh to call The Last Jedi a big-budget fan-fiction vanity project? Or any of the sequel trilogy, for that matter? Between Rian Johnson, JJ Abrams, and Kathleen Kennedy, almost every Disney Star Wars production could be painted with the same brush... πŸ€”
  15. It's a shame we never got an exposed-helmet Vader figure from Rebels... so I suppose the live-action rip-off will have to suffice. πŸ˜’
  16. Spock's Vulcan heritage did not prepare him to understand humour, and his attempts at comedy are shockingly unfunny as a result. Logic dictates the writers of Very Short Treks must also be Vulcans. 🀨
  17. The fans have spoken... and Hasbro is listening. 😲
  18. I'd been expecting M.A.S.K. vehicles with proper robot modes ever since Hasbro acquired Kenner back in the day... I'm still not sure why that hasn't come to pass. πŸ€”
  19. That reminds me of the "Missing Link" Optimus Prime toy: Adding articulation does nothing to improve the awkward proportions of the original toy, nor does it make it any more accurate to the animation model. It's not the "desecration of a classic toy" some bemoan it to be, but it's hardly a significant improvement, either... 😐
  20. Well, not so much now. πŸ˜… I feel sorry for whoever paid $2000 for a 3D-printed prototype that anyone can make an exact duplicate of now. 😳
