  1. Also keep in mind that the Dragon's Fire that they used to blow up the sept was only a small portion of what had been planned by the mad king, If there is a massive invasion of King's Landing, I'd expect Cersei to throw the nuclear option before dying, and Jaime knows this story all too well, the idea of him closing the loop and being a Queenslayer/Kinslayer in addition to a Kingslayer doesn't seem too far fetched to me. I'm very excited about Sam at the Citadel, for probably a half decade now I've been daydreaming about Sam Tarley becoming one of the most powerful people in Westeros through his nerd-dom and it looks like it may happen. Unless they pull a rabbit out of their hat, I'll be looking to the books for the true tales of the Iron Islands, the real decision that lead to Shireen's death, and on and on. They cut a lot of corners to expedite the story for a compelling TV series, but I expect a lot more background information when the books finally come out. P.S. So Frankenmountain,........ What do we think he was going to be doing with the nun of shame there? I don't need everything spelled out for me, but there was an almost inappropriate implication when Cersei left the room, and it didn't look like he was going to go to work Pulp Fiction style with a blow torch and a pair of pliers...... Might whatever that is, be the invitation for Cleganebowl, since the hound may be on a mission to avenge the Faith Militant, and Mountainstein is torturing one of the last survivors from King's Landing in a dungeon?
  2. It'd make more sense for Arya to die or end up in a coma being tended to by the faceless man and find out that she has some semblance of Bran's power to Warg into her wolf, and like many thought Jon would warg into Ghost, to have Arya end up inhabitting Nymeria for the upcoming Riverlands showdown with an army of wolves might be a fun twist. And on the Jamie helping retake WInterfell with Brienne, after he last episode that is what I thought might happen as well. In the books, he was the character I thought had the greatest progressiong from villain to possible hero, I could absolutely see him coming through to save the day. SOIF/GOT has never seemed like a happy ending type story to me, so if Dany and her dragon don't end up ont he Iron Throne, I've been betting on Littlefinger all along. Treacherous, smart, manipulative, he was born to be the king of slime.
  3. Finally finishing Fist of the North Star (2) it's been on my to-do list for years. I was curious where they heck it was going to go after the battle with Raoh, but I'm genuinely interested in seeing where this is going crossing the sea for the finale.
  4. I have two of the captains kits, every time I see a 1/72 scale Glaug I want to buy another, they are just plain impressive.....
  5. I actually dig a lot of the more artistically unusual versions of Godzilla over the years, but those forearms are wrecked they throw the symmetry of a Godzilla off in my eye. I could handle a "zombiezilla" but I don't like this concept art.
  6. LOL, My brain was doing the same math when I watched the movie. Don't forget Not Uncle Ben (Kenobi stand in) getting slain by Stormtroopers while Not Luke is getting away from Not Tatooine, and: Not Obi-Wan (Han) getting Slain by Not Vader (Secret squirrel) while Not Luke is working on escape from the Not Death Star
  7. And it sure looks like they shot the scene two different ways to intentionally mislead people. If you watch the death in the original episode, you'll see zombies tearing pieces of Glenn off his left upper torso above his heart. In the most recent episode, all of the zombie action is going on over captain loser's body, no attacks near his upper torso/head. I don't even have a huge problem with the bait and switch but I felt cheated with the sub-par episodes in between and that hour and half Morgan episode just felt like completely wasted time to me, they didn't do anything that taught me something or made me care about the character more than they could have done in a five minute montage. They following episode, the horrifically cheesy monologues that the Alexandria characters gave to demonstrate their coming to terms with the zombie apocalypse were so dumb I started channel surfing.
  8. Package received, with a bit of melancholy I might add, if it's truly the last I'm a little sad. Here's to hoping that you have a nice break but later get "the bug" to create again.
  9. I could be wrong but I read somewhere that the reviewers got the screeners for episodes one and two and that Sam Raimi was out after episode one. I really expected this to be a vehicle for Ted Raimi and Bruce Campbell to run with the franchise as Sam seems to have historically responded to questions about Evil Dead / AOD as a been there, done that, ready to do other things issue. I'm probably way wrong and I hope so, because it's been a gift to movie and horror fans everywhere for years. I watched the first episode, it had the camp, gore, fun and Bruce Campbell silliness necessary to keep my attention, I'm looking forward to more.
  10. Heck, Rick wanted a chance to train and toughen up the people in the town, that set up with the tiny split in the tractor trailers was perfect. Reinforce the barricade, let a few out for the newbies to learn to kill them, weed out the ones who just were never going to have the stomach for it, zombie target practice for his gun classes. Set them all loose immediately, whut? The only thing I may have misunderstood due to the CG longshot was if that tractor trailer that fell in the back ground was already letting them loose from the back side and they felt imminent doom. It didn't look like it to me, but maybe the blurry distance CG implied something I didn't read from it.
  11. I get that Rick is a "take action" kinda guy, but that plan seemed a little half backed and ripe with chances for failure, seems like the other guys idea to fortify the embankments would have been a somewhat easier temporary fix while they came up with something a little more concrete.... But as they say, Cest la Vie next week should be pretty interesting
  12. I've collected most of the film and TV work Miike has done over the years, it a pretty excentric mix of ultra-violence, bad sci fi, weird-o-vision and fantasy stuff. I love most of his deranged, crazy work, while he usually goes a little overboard, he is experienced and knows how to shoot film, perhaps this will be his magnum opus
  13. I'm happy to hear about the kit but even more excited that your skills, hard work and passion for this stuff sound like they have lead to a great opportunity for you. Congrats man!
  14. OK,as a now 40 something, nearly 30 year anime fan, with today's technology, the profit potential, fandom, why in the hell do the Japanese companies not as a given put an English subtitle option on all anime releases to get their products in US (huge market there ) hands? I mean with vhs, I understood , with DVD onset I still understood since Internet sales and marketting wasn't a thing, OK. Today, I think they are dumb. Even at Japan + import prices I would love to import Japanese Macross and other anime products, instead I'm hostage to hoping one of the US digital video services gets the license to view online, but I can't buy a permanent copy of their shows. Why is this still a thing?
  15. Pm sent with phone/address info. I'm not sure if I still owe you a payment on something open so respond to my pm if that''s the case.
  16. I have a buddy that bought some kits from a company in China, they came with a "bonus".... it was a half a horse miniature, half a wargame human miniature and a plastic gun that looked like it came from a transformer and in the package with a little strip of paper like you'd find in a fortune cookie that said "Scpeial Bonus Customer #1!" Dear god we laughed for an hour. He gave me the baggie, I need to build something out of it to honor the experience.
  17. Sad news as one of your fans and long time customers, but I hope the move and perhaps associated work opportunity is a great success. We'll miss your kit offerings but hopefully we'll still see you on the boards and who knows, maybe the bug will bite you again somewhere down the road
  18. IMO, having played through the book, the game is not much more than a Warhammer 40K / Battletech hybrid cultivated for a niche market and with a pretty meager launch. I've had the same typical rules lawyering fights over Line of Sight, range, , cover, fire arcs, etc. that I've had with damn near every other tabletop miniature strategy game out there. If there is some kind of Robotech Renaissance with a big anime re-release or something that draws in a bunch of young people to the franchise, maybe, otherwise, unless they can turn a profit on the minis and expansions it is DOOMED. I hope the wave 2 miniatures materialize, I'll buy a ton of them because I love models and miniatures and this is my perfect little wonderland, but I don't see the game being original enough or super fun enough to differentiate itself enough to overcome all of the things it has going against it long term. I hope I'm wrong, it would be pretty awesome if they thrived, improved and offered a neat and extensive line of Southern Cross and Mospeada miniatures, I'd be jazzed
  19. We should also consider the topic, I think many of us have Robotech / Macross - HG / Big West opinions. This thread is really supposed to be about the game, pieces quality, etc. We do have a thread for our HG hate (or love) On topic, I'm shocked given the money they had access to and futur Kickstarter windfalls they didn't pay to consult with groups like Reaper miniatures who had kickstarter and Chinese manufacturing experience or hire away one of their employees to run things. It's a no brainer, get help to make a mint when you get the chance....
  20. I did not. I'm a huge cynic and use kickstarter carefully. But when a product was delivered I got a copy retail and have bought tons of boxes of the expansion figs. As an original 80's (OG dog!) run on TV Southern California Robotech kid who used to run home from school to catch episodes, came to Macross and anime fandom as a direct result I know the HG / RT / Big West history pretty well and had my doubts about the Kickstarter.
  21. Oh the decals are hilarious too. If you look at my first pic in the post above, check out the decal sheet in the upper right. Dozens of the decals are smaller than a pinhead. Imagine trying to lay, orient, set straight with a capillary drying to set then to cover, clearcoat without moving, wrinkling or turnin g. It's almost a joke.
  22. I've assembled quite a few and have 12 or 13 boxes more I've picked up to put together. If I find them cheap I'm scooping them up. I've just been tossing them in the box between building and priming and they aren't crazy brittle. The head lasers on the vf-1 seem to be the most in danger. The arched base stands that attach them to the bases pop off pretty easy if you don't drill and pin.
  23. I've never tried to upload right from a phone I may need to retry, but heres a pic of the runners to make 6 miniatures, a quarter for scale and one complete mini primed white next to it. And here's the instructions for the Guardian and fighter mode.
  24. Let me get some pics tonight. I've posted a few times on this subject, again I'm conflicted I think the models are awesome when complete, because they seem to be fully detailed 1/72 scale models shrunk down to miniature size, but dear god, for an average gamer, they are ridiculously time consuming to assemble. The game should come with a warning that the parts will take approximately 16 hours for a skilled modeler to assemble for the game to be playable.
