  1. I'd love to hear some of May'n Styles versions of songs or maybe some Universial Bunny material. I can hope and dream, right?
  2. is gearing up to get Culturing!

  3. UN Spacy type guy! What's this Yardhouse thing and is that open to everyone? I know I'm kinda new to MW but I wouldn't mind meeting other Macross Fans! Mercurial - Those are some pretty awesome designs! Heheh, I've been joking that I want to try and get one of my friends SMS jackets signed by them. (From a set of Frontier costumes we made last year.) Tochiro - I know what you mean on seeing them in an American setting. Sadly, I was in Japan for four years and I never got to see 'em due to deployment issues. I am really sad to hear your troubles man and I really hope for a fast and well recovery man!
  4. I just confirmed my way to AX! I can't wait to see em! I was in Japan for four years and managed to miss their concerts due to Navy Deployments! To learn they were gonna do a concert here in the states... Su-freaking-goi indeed!
  5. This news was passed to me and I figured it was relevant to pass to you all! http://www.anime-expo.org/2010/05/19/musical-artists-megumi-nakajima-and-mayn-guests-of-honor/ Megumi Nakajima and May'n (Ranka and Sheryl) are going to be performing on Friday at Anime Expo. And apparently, there will be a third, mystery performer singing as well. Just thought I'd share the news!
  6. A shame... becuase I think you are missing the WHOLE point of Macross.
  7. I wasn't aware that I was a pest and infestation.... Can pests and infestations listen to songs? Becuase really, I think that's what is important here!
  8. War isn't unavoidable... you obviously haven't listened to Basara's song enough!
  9. Oh, no, no, no... you get me all wrong! I'm WELL aware that Macross II doesn't fit into the real continuity and of Macross 2036 (Though I never seen/played Eternal Love Story) Originally I had put in my post a line that this might sound like bad-fanfictioning... and indeed it is! I'm doing the hypothetical "What if" with that post... what if one tried to tie Macross II with the main continuitty. I'll save the major Macross II convo for the Macross II thread... your comment had just made me think of the RPG campaign I ran and its crazy OBVIOUSLY non-canon story line... *laughs* By no means was it supposed to suggest any real sort of connection.
  10. Oh, how I'd wish for any sort of thing following up Macross II! Heck, for an RPG, I imagined the idea that the Marduk were Protoculture or perhaps Zentraedi dissidants who watched the original Republic fall apart becuase it kept trying to assimilate cultures and blend them to ascend to greatness. (Thus the whole adoration of the Varja, the fan-idea that the Protoculture had known of the Galactic Whales, and their inpiration upon other worlds...) The Marduk consider this to be what led to the Protoculture's destruction and thus goes out of its way to wipe out other cultures before it could contaminate and threaten them. I would imagine that would include Earth's colonies. Funny thing is... then you could imagine the Alus to be a ship of the Marduk that breaks off from this plan and sets off to try and discover what happened to the race they abandoned.... (But of course, if memory serves me correctly... DYRL tries to say the ship was a part of the Supervisionary Army, right?) (But you know, the VF-2SS does have some rather interesting design similarities to the 25 and the 27... a transformable armor pack, a heavy beam cannon... man... some clever rewriting and... heh...)
  11. My only prequisite is that I'd love to see a new story from beyond the perspective of a New Macross Colony Fleet (Or any other colony fleet.) How about the story of a planetary terraforming project after a fleet lands. Hell, make it Macross 7 for all I care... Something of a sort of hard sci-fi story when it comes to terraforming, colony management and such... but with the fantasy of Macross... some Protoculture ruins, some anicent alien force that exists on the world, a love triangle, and communicating with the ancient alien world through song. (Of course!) While we'd have a new Variable Fighter... perhaps in an interesting twist, there would be a lot more Destroid action. And while I'd hate to bring up a Robotech thing after the previous arguments, perhaps some sort of land-aerospace carrier thing like that MTA Titant thing from the Sentinels to act as a Macross Fortress like function.... but then... we'd be getting a tad crazy perhaps. But mankind is apparently seeding the galaxy... I'd love to know more of how this works on the planetary level....
  12. Really? They've started doing that? That's pretty awesome! I actually almost want to bring a camera into a theatre just to try that... But I doubt the defense, "I just wanted to see it white out my camera!" would hold up in court. *laughs* Instead, I think this might be the first Japanese Bluray I purchase... You can get programs to time subtitles tto it, right?
  13. Oh man... Macross II's dub is so bad that it's hilarious... and thus, we always watch it dubbed! "I'M GONNA RIP HIS HEAD OFF!" Or that commander's, "The ship are INDEED Zentraedi" as if he's a robot. Plus, the VF-2SS Squires are essnetially Valkyrie Options! (As in Options from Gradius' Vic Viper) How can you NOT love those?! (And the Zentraedi-stylized Macross Cannons! A nice touch!) I still love Macross II... it was one of my first anime, back before I even completely understood the difference between it and Robotech... it was flashy, cool, and had slick giant robots. Sure, it's no Macross Plus... but it's still a whole lot of fun in my book!
  14. Or you know... since the TV version shows the logo with english Frontier... do a little role reversal for the US... And call it M Frontier: The False Songstress. Or, for a little Fire Bomber reference.... New Frontier: The False Songstress... Heck, call it the Frontier Quarter and you're set! *laughs* Ahhhh... a real shame...
  15. Just got back from the movie earlier today! Man, that teaser... I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that VF-1's color scheme is just a tad bit familar... Sadly, I'm heading back to the states this coming week... so it'll be forever and a half before I get to see the second movie. All in all, out of all the movie retelllings that Kawamori has been involved with, I was really most impressed with this one. Sure, some of the characters were kind of side-lined, but its a movie... y'know? I'd really wish someone would get their act together and bring freaking Frontier's movie state-side at least. I'd love to have a nice Bluray of this with English Subs (And maybe even a dub!) (But I also know why that's unlikely.... it certainly doesn't help that this outshines Shadow Chronicles easily.)
