thanks so much for all the pics and info everyone.. .. this has gotta be one of e more exciting threads that's really stirred my anticipation and curiousity towards this toy! especially the scale photos.. giving me an indication of what the toy may look like on my desk (eventually i hope).. very nice. and yes, that's what the thread should be about.. ppl's first feelings on e toy, shared info, photos, details, insights etc... .. so i gotta say this again.. discussing canon is certainly ok.. but what i think i really got frustrated over was having to read the arguments, the in-depth analysis of each other's comments, the sensitivity and fanciful arguments.. no, nobody is mockin no-one.. some of us can argue really well and that is ur right, but pls spare a thought for the rest of the MWers who have to scroll thru the "well-structured" and "coherent" arguments, decide who wins and applaud before they can read info on the toy..(which was why i clicked on the thread in the first place.) it is frustrating, and just sours the whole MW experience.. which is about the TOYS..(in this section anyway) and not as much as it is about our personal reputation..or what we perceive others feel or are saying about us.. deal with those things in PMs please. as such, much thanks to those who posted the pics, the info.. and insights on what the monster could do in battle..etc.. just fuels the imagination about the TOY and makes me look forward to seeing it in more detail.. and perhaps even handling it one day.

uh..wow.. i gotta hand it to u H... u certainly don't let up. i can't imagine what a REAL argument over something IMPORTANT will cause you to do.. write a whole THESIS? don't think it's the first time i've seen ur threads like this... and i guess that's what really kills my enjoyment at times on MW... nit-picking.. pinchy fights over... what was it again? as for this thread. i tend to think when i look at the 1/48 in fighter mode that yeah, the cockpit seems a little wide.. TO ME. i'm not forcing my opinion on no one, i'm not saying anyone is lying, i'm not whining (cos this is my first time sayin it).. but yeah, maybe, with all these disclaimers, i am paranoid. i just wanted to state my views on this little topic. u guys carry on now.

i confess.. i thought i would start with one 1/48.. just the low-viz.. and the 1/48 addiction took over like a slow disease... i now have 5 1/48s.. 2 low vizes 1 vf-1s roy 1 vf-1s hikaru 1 vf-1j hikaru and maybe 1 vf-1a max on the way.. how did that happen? anyway.. i kept away my 1/60s.. but recently, got a new cabinet and decided to display my 1/60s in fighter mode at the feet of each 1/48 battroid. looks good and saves me from "regretting" my 1/60 purchases. try it at home.. i now have my 1/48 vf-1s and 1j standing over their 1/60 counterparts... saves me having to buy 2 or 3 1/48s to show off the different modes. did the same for my MPOP prime.. with the g1 prime in truck mode with trailer at the feet of mpop prime. pretty sweet. but now must resist buying the 1/48 M and Ms to match my 1/60 M n Ms.. arrghh... any other things u 1/48ers do with ur 1/60s?

How do i get the arms of my 1/48 to stay up in Fighter Mode when FAST packs are attached?... i can only keep them up.. but there's no way to click it or fasten it in place, is there? thanks so much!

hmmm... u mean u pasted the file name under the "translate web page"? or under the "translate a block of text"? what files u trying to translate? i've used it pretty often and i usually get pretty ok results.. if u have a link.. or something.. lemme know n we try to figure out something together..

this has probably been discussed many times before.. but i couldnt find a corresponding thread, so was hoping for some advice or help from e gurus.. cos there's been a "speculative" question on my mind.. q. What is the likelihood of Yamato releasing different colored FAST packs? (ie different shade or color from the current one, or even the 1J one..) i don't really consider the "clear" packs a different shade. i ask this cos am thinking of getting FAST packs for all my 1/48s, but am kinda hoping for alternate colors... may seem trivial to some, but at US45 per FAST pack, i dont want to be kicking myself later "if" and "when" they release a variant color pack

what i do is i go to http://world.altavista.com/, what many of us know as Babel Fish Translation ... under "Translate a Web page"... cut and paste yamato's "what's new" link, http://www.yamato-toys.com/index.php?mode=wnew ... select "japanese to english"..and then translate the whole thing.. most of the page should show up in terrible, but readable engRish... even the links work..

I think you can try to super glue the hinge back on but depending on where it has cracked, it may or may not prove effective. If you read through this thread, it seems Yamato's replacement policy is nil, does not exists. Hopefully Monkey N can offer and update. Good luck! super glue? ok..can anyone recommend what kind of glue to use? i know absolutely ziltch about modelling..i'm more into colors and line designs..so i don't want to use any glue that might corrode or damage the paint/plastic etc.. i'm in Singapore, btw, now we having Chinese New Year holidays..so i got some time to try to fix my valk.. other than that, still hope to be able to order a part or at least get advice from someone who fixed their 1/60 backpack hinge before..

just opened my misb miriya super vf-1j 1/60 today... backpack hinge was broken....was searching thru e threads to find info on this and came to this parts thread. just want to know if anyone had the same problem on any of the 1/60 backpack hinges..(ie. broken) and was able to fix it? by ordering parts? instructions etc? any help would be greatly appreciated..and yes, i am open to ordering parts from any available source to fix my valk! thanks!!

um i think that's the heat shield u talking about... ya, it's a common problem that it can just pop out easily.. but the canopy is a different story sia.. i also dread the day i end up breaking it or damaging it.. but then again...ain;t that all our fears for our preciousss valks?

see the pic posted from the other thread..took it to paste here... does that solved the mystery? i dono..i am still unsure what the color is..is it a new shade? or is it the same as before?...any insights? and for comparison from the same seller...looks the same to me? ..hmmm...

so has the mystery of the VF-1J FAST-Pack colors finally been solved? It looks 'greenish' from the picture...and not the greyish that we saw in the earlier pics...or isit just lighting playing tricks? can anyone verify the color of the Booster packs from the pic? is it the same as the FAST packs sold earlier? think this issue is very impt to many as they are hoping the greyish FAST packs will look better on the Low-Viz...not much point getting another greenish-FAST pack..is there? dono? after all, as the true fans would argue, VF-1J was never shown in Super-mode in the series...
