    WAT THE frakk BRO!~

  2. Sigh :( i had to ask the Japanese dude to cancel the ebay purchase. GFD!! why WHY do they have to ship FEDEX> Over half of the price of the item goes to their BS fees. Same goes for DHL, and UPS. Everytime i bought from chinese guy or HLJ it was always EMS. UGH! His loss my loss. Farewell Ninghtingale. It was a love affair never meant to last.

    Nice! :good:

I forgot that Psycho Doga. The Funnel connector looks good on the Nightingale but I find the clear connector parts looks plain. It's basically more of an attachment than an effect part per se.

I found this RG/HG Sazabi Effect Parts on eBay and thinking maybe it can be customized to fit the RD Nightingale? Looks better IMHO connecting directly to the Funnel ports rather than just connecting the Funnels to look like it's floating like the picture above. What do you guys think?

YEah it looks goofy coming from its but flap instead of the funnel pods lol

EDIT: im curious as to the design of the nightingale. Its huge profile and it being glaringly RED makes it a perfect bullseye

True. The only transforming Aegis I have was the Advanced MSIA. And it was so sloppy that I ended up gluing them in MA mode.

You're welcome. I just copied the katakana word for the Nightingale in YJA. ;) And the $205 one is that thru the YJA or somewhere else? Congrats by the way. :good:

Oh, that is a good price. I got mine from NY (before they were shady) for 24,182 yen plus 5,200 yen shipping.

They are arnt they. They list low and soon as they get it in, if you did not pre-order boom New higher price. SHOWZ does the same thing. Maybe due to min. Order discount and such

The figure is amazing and you will notice it every time you walk into the room. It is well built with strong joints and some die cast metal for support. And Bandai did a very nice job with the paint but that will vary from figure to figure. But as @no3Ljm said, it is massive. For reference it will fill an entire detolf shelf and it has to be placed at an angle. It does have articulation but due to the design of the suit you aren't going to be able to get a lot of dynamic posing. I managed to get a good flight pose with it holding the gun out but that was the limit on a wide open shelf.

Personally I don't think the figure is worth $450, considering it is more of a statue than an action figure. I would hunt around on Mandrake or Yahoo Japan auctions, see you can find a better price. $300 - $350 shipped to me would be the limit. And shipping will be expensive, the box was bigger could hold two to three metal build figures. I recommend hunting around on Buyee, I have been able to figure reasonable prices. Also look for, if you don't have it, the robot spirits Psycho Doga. It was a p-bandai figure released last year but has funnel affects for the Nightingale.  Considering the price Bandai should have included effect parts but oh well.

If paint rub bothers you be aware that the front tip of the chest could have a blemish. The unit is very well packed but on my copy the plastic clamshell very slight rubbed the paint in that area during transit. It has a slight blemish and I can't see it anymore. If you are a big fan of the Nightingale I highly recommend this figure, just don't over pay too much. I don't regret buying it. I am still getting the HG model mostly because I want to see how Bandai engineers the joints for the wing binders. There is going to be a lot of weight with those.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks Man. Ill take a look. I missed it on the first run and was out of work. But i love this mech.

Only one listed in Mandrake and nothing listed on Yahoo auctions. It is one of a kind. I saw the HGUC but it still doesnt come close to this RS edition and it seems the 4th party KOs are not making any gundams lately

For better or worse, as opposed to Bayverse bots, Travis Knight’s Bumbleblee movie designs hark back to the G1 era. Most who grew up with G1 would have instantly recognized all the characters in the opening scene on Cybertron. For some reason though, they choose to make this guy as Blitzwing, even though the whole design screams, ahem..  Starscream.

    n6oYFuA.jpg

With these third party Bumblebee movie toy efforts, we do seem to be entering a new era of toymaking, whereby these companies are really able to replicate their bot mode to almost 100% of what we see onscreen, yet make them transform to their real-world alt modes with more than reasonable likeness. This is the 3rd figure of this movie, after Toyword’s Optimus Prime & Transcraft’s Bumblebee, which a casual observer would have a hard time telling the difference between them and the non-transforming, CGI-accurate Threezero’s versions...

Nevertheless, there are some concessions. Head & hands are a bit too small, and having to transform means articulation can be compromised in some ways.

The quest for accuracy in both modes means transformation is a really complicated and involving affair these days. I have come to approach these toys the same as assembling a model kit, or building a moderately sized Lego set – prepare to block off a whole afternoon or evening to transform them. Total concentration, gentle but steady hands are necessary. But the payoff is satisfying…

Blitzwing turns into a cool McDonnell Douglas F4 Phantom II jet. Even though it has endless folding panels, everything comes together solidly & securely (perhaps too snugly in some places), and there is no slack at all when holding it in hand,,

In bot mode, it is already a big toy, but transforming it involves some mass-shifting resulting in an even larger jet. Here it is with a 1/48 DX Chogokin VF-1J for comparison.

Picking it up and swooshing it gives me a huge silly grin as I come to a certain realization.. You see, when we were kids, toys were on average much bigger than they are today, and coupled with our kid-sized hands, they felt much more substantial. The size of this Blitzwing and its solid plastics in grown-up hands really telegraphs the feeling of being a kid-with-a huge-toy-plane again, more so mostly needing two hands to swoosh it..

Nevertheless, the pic above also shows there is a bit of problem in its proportions, as someone (@Dobber ?) observed a few pages back. Its length of 41.5cm makes it about 1/46 scale, but its wingspan of 29cm makes it 1/40 widthwise. Hence, its overall too short, giving it a bit of a SD-ish characteristic.

However, it is a characteristic I’m willing to overlook, as this toy manages to do the one most important thing most other Transformer jet toys have failed: having a relatively clean underside without extraneous kibble or having that bot-hanging-off-a-jet look. Although there are some gaps & what look like missing panels on Blitzwing’s underside, it’s a huge, huge improvement as compared to say, Bayverse’s Starscream F-22 & Jetfire SR-71 toys.

I also love that all the armament missiles are individual pieces, including the pylons and external fuel tanks..

GORGEOUS...cant for mine to hit the mailbox
