I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Can you explain what you mean when you say they were "doubling down on being reduced to a Macross 7 parody" ? Can you be more specific? All I know is that they haven't made jack crap lately and it's confusing to me. Are they even producing *ANYTHING* these days? If not, why are they even still in business?
Google a comic book called Robotech Remix. Depending on how much Macross you’ve watch over the years, it will either be the funniest, humiliating thing HG has ever done or one epic chair-flipping moment after another. For added context, also read the Titan Comics series that was made prior to it. It might was well be the grand finale for what fans thought Robotech was supposed to be about.
In the real world, I think the dream of Hollywood saving the franchise from all its problems is dead.

Robotech was doubling down on being reduced to a Macross 7 parody before that whole universe came to a screeching halt. That’s why you haven’t heard anything.

Yeah, I can't say that I agree with the critical drinker on this one. Not sure how attacking the writers or the lead actor or the showrunner creates a logical connection for the show's downtrend beyond the same in Capaldi's era as lead. I mean, it's obvious that there are some extremely vocal people who aren't into it anymore which is fine.
A “professional” drama queen on the internet will always need to go below the belt to pay the bills.

Where I live, we did most everything right; problem is that folks fled here from other states and the COVID rates spiked.
Let’s be honest, the U.S. ultimately did nothing right. This is just one of many consequences for it which will be felt for a very long time afterward.

Remember that this is only happening in places where people really screwed up dealing with a pandemic, which unfortunately is also places where a lot of major movie studios make their money.

It’s like the decline of arcades, except heavily self inflicted and much of it could have been avoided.

I think someone made Berger a rich, happy guy to get their hands on that fighter.

For a moment there I thought Hikaru wanted to to take advantage of the situation...
Remember, this is Hikaru we’re talking about.

The powers that be still have a soft spot for Macross Zero.

Imagine if you were a huge fanboy for or had a crush on a celebrity and suddenly found yourself standing right in front of him/her. You would probably be a hot mess trying to react like Hikaru... or the Flower Girl... or Ranka... or Freya.

I agree with everyone here. I cannot speak for username Bolt but I think he may have been implying if aliens helped humanity than we all benefited.
Did I just take the bait?
Pretty smug for a guy who has tried multiple times to get people to read his “academic” garbage.

Brofessor, actually watching the Macross shows might be helpful for whatever you are trying to do or say.

Real good point. The series left a lot of questions unanswered. I fully expect them to address those in the sequel. Otherwise it would be kind of pointless.
They did announce a season 2 a while back. Sometimes plans change, but maybe it’s still happening, just not at the relatively breakneck pace a lot of people were expecting.

ok , bruv. No disrespect. But you did put together something together for us to see how much thought power you're putting into it. Right??
let's see if Lady M is dangled before us, once again. Or if they throw something else for us to get worked up over
Waiting.....
I’m the guy who did I also did the Gritty Minmay pics too, remember? Besides, it’s not as much thought power as a lot of people put in the toys, models, and workshop sections of the forum.

Lol. Have you been hanging around brofessor?
I actually put effort I what I do, and like the people behind Delta trying to have a long game view at this situation. Also, I am not a weirdo who is obviously a product of this era of the Internet desperately trying to get attention for how “smart” I am.

It’s hard to take people seriously when they say Macross, and recently Delta, is a failure when there is a second movie coming out, especially when they are really not hiding that they are damaged goods from another franchise with different expectations.
For added context, remember that a dead ringer for Nekki Basara now exists in a certain comic book meant for a more “mature” and “serious” mecha crowd.
-
It’s been over 30 years since Macross deviated from the supposedly serious, no nonsense show called Robotech. Don’t get mad at it for not matching your extremely high and unrealistic ideals, and don’t come to it projecting the unrealized ideals that Robotech failed to deliver over and over again.
-
I’m interested in what it is going to be about. So far everything that has been said so far give the impression that this is just a second movie going beyond what the TV series went through. Does it feel like this it is leading towards a conclusion?
-
I know I keep coming back to bringing it up, but despite all the HATE people have for Macross 7 out there over the years it’s pretty sad that something like Robotech Remix came around and did not even try to hide that it was clearly inspired by it.
-
Pretty extreme long game plan they’re going with Delta as a whole.
