Kitz Concept Toy Thread 2.0

I'm kinda amused that they keep up with the only XXX made limited edition thing. Sure XXX made of this release, but in a year or so we will just change the color of the base and release XXX more. Then next year XXX release, but remove the missles and base. Then the next year another release XXX but it has Fast Packs! *Sigh*- 1762 replies

Well on the plus side the Metallic VF-1A set does not look as obnoxious as I originally thought. As for the M&M 1J set, I can't see myself plunking down anything to get a different colored base.- 1762 replies

Got my KC Dark Blue VF-1S in today, this might be my favorite paint schema to date... other then the Purple GOF. They did get the UPC code correct on this version, I am not seeing any glaring QC issues which is always a good thing.- 1762 replies

Yeah, TBH Harrison Ford was too old when Crystal Skull came out.. that was it for me. A buddy took his kids to go see it, he didn't knock it but he wasn't particularly enamored with it either. The teenagers enjoyed it but he was pretty blunt.. he called it IJ and the Dookie of Depends.. for what its worth.

Help with 1990’s military play set toy line.
Stampeed Valkyrie replied to frankell05's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I had the Army Gear Canteen.. the jet was pretty cool, was an SD F-14. I also had the M16, but my parents started taking all my gun stuff away when cops started shooting kids in the 90s for having toy guns. -
I picked up the Max version of the YF-29 here, which is a release I probably would have passed on with my overall aversion to Delta. Figured I would toss em a bone since I was there. Got some other pictures of the standees that were not Macross related.

I wish TBH, the 2 or 3 times I passed by this setup there was nobody around to ask, outside of AX Volunteers. -

I saw this display at AX, I was impressed with how the toy looks in person. The tampo decals were spot on, and I think it rivals the KC TV Hikki 1J. -
Macross Shooting Insight for Switch, PS4 and Steam

So I got a chance to try out a Demo on a laptop at AX2023. This game reminds me very much of an old PS1 game called Philosoma, especially how it changes its views as a shooter. I had a chance to get hands on for about 15 min or so for the Demo. Only 1 pilot playable, it looked nice, but I was not overly impressed, I'll hold my judgement until it gets an official release. I snapped a pic at the con, not me playing. -
I understand the sentiment @commodore256 but I do not believe statements like the Golden Age of Anime, or Anime is dead are true. Everything is subjective and anime much like any other medium adapts in order to keep selling. I don't disagree that there have been many changes to the modern Anime style that I could live without, but there are still the breakthrough titles (to me at least) and while rare are still out there. I think I will eventually age out of modern Anime, and that is probably sooner rather then later, but so long as there is still 1 show every couple of years or so that really stands out... I'll watch. As for SciFi.. I haven't followed anything mainstream in years. I would recommend short stories or some of the independent lesser known content. Hell some of the best examples I have found for this are old Radio Shows from the 30's and 40's. I am 100% right there with you about not wanting to be preached at when I go to be entertained, but this goes for all current things. Not to pick on Star Trek, but Fan content (Axenar anyone?) is more of my speed then anything Discovery and post Discovery.

I've played the first 3 games, and lost interest. I know enough of the lore to get the references, no real interest especially since they axed the original creator awhile back.

So the Red and Black Super 1S arrived today. KC is reusing boxes from the GOF Purple variant if you go by the UPC code. Sticker is correct though, the numbering schema is highly dubious. I did take a look under the Valks unmentionables to make sure no obvious QC and it looks good. Also the tabs are present on the back of the legs.. making this another run of Black and Red VF-1S valks.. not the V1s it was previously.- 1762 replies

I hear you on this, I am hoping that these look better in person, then the pictures show. I have been impressed by how the metallic finishes came out on the Red and Purple GOF themes. The green gunpods are definitely not a plus. I am kinda holding out hope for this anyway, cause its different.- 1762 replies

I just got notification that my Black and Red Super 1S shipped. I think KC is trying to get away from making their figures look like GIJoe's with the cloth. I am fine either way, so long as we get figures from SDF Macross.- 1762 replies

Super SpaceFortess Macross Arcade Project

I am taking a WIN for today, both issues with the coin box are resolved. Original coin acceptor was completely out of calibration, another one of my friends was able to take the unit apart, reassemble and then locate what was wrong and adjust accordingly. As for the electrical gremlin, I cheated. I ran both relays in series and now it registers no matter which slot you used. I figured that is easier then tearing into the cabinet and trying to undo some whackery in the wiring. so today I get a.. -
I'll be there, I'm down for a meetup.

So the coin Mech, is going the way of the trashbin. I have a friend who is sending me a replacement mechanical unit. I did some of the adjustments that the Vendor recommended and it still just Randomly decides to reject or Jam with no obvious culprit. The next specter to hunt down is why the Coin 2 does not register a credit. As I said previously the relay is working on both coin slots, but only registers on P2. I brought the meter out and I do have continuity on Both C1 and C2 circuits. The coin counter also does not register on C2, without digging into the box further I am scratching my head. -
Well Both are going to Otakon this year. I'll be honest AX lineup is pretty weak this year. Barring any surprise announcements.

So I removed the mech, quick overview.. 1.) coin drops in here 2.) Sort Mechanism checks for weight and size. coin then decends down ramp towards the sticker. 3.) Accepted coin chute 4.) Rejected coin chute. The arrow is showing the adjustment screw for the magnet that "supposedly" slows the coin down during its path between #'s 2 and 3 or 4. The mechanism itself is very simple, I seem to be getting coins stuck in the chutes.. first was the "ramp" so I adjusted the magnet and that seems to have stopped. Now I am getting them stuck in the acceptance chute. Apparently there is a bumper it hits and I wonder if that is what is doing it. -

.... and the coin mech phantom problems persist. The mechanism is a coin co version similar to this. As I stated previously I have 2 issues.. 1 I think is wiring, and the other is Mechanical in nature. The mechanism randomly gets tokens stuck in the mechanism, they get hung in the brass cradle or just after it. I have adjusted and lubricated several parts but the issue is random, could be fine today, tomorrow, maybe next Saturday. Then bam its back again. The Electrical has to do with how credits are not getting registered after the coin falls past the relay switch after clearing the mechanism itself and falling into the bucket. I have tested the relay and its good, power is showing proper 5VDC and ground is good for common. I think the problem is with the wiring harness for the cabinet itself. My next step is to get a meter and test the harness for the P2 coin circuit, possibly try to hunt down a wiring schematic for this cabinet assuming it has not been bubba'd. -

So the first release of the Black and Red VF1S was limited to 200 pcs. This appears to be the same, other then updates to the molds plus matching FP armor with a release of 500. Tough call, I really liked the Black and Red, but do I need FPs? Who am I kidding.. my poor wallet.- 1762 replies
