Is that for the upcoming "Rebels" series? The TIEs in the background have that Kenner toy look that this series seems to be using.

Just finished Season 5 on Blu ray and wooow! The last two story arcs are pretty darn well written and directed. The visuals are downright epic. Only wish they could have gotten to do a full Season 6.

I believe what they are finished 2 or 3 episodes before aquisition by Disney.

But I don't have any proof about these XD

Edit: Ok, I have this sequence XD

Still annoys me that we never got to see that arc.

. . . . Or any figures made from the Maul-Mando arc.

So, those who do not have, nor want, Netflix are out of luck?  Well, that sucks.

Netflix is big on having exclusive/original content. They don't see their service as competition for cable or dish, but for premium channels like HBO. At least Netflix doesn't require a cable/dish sub, too, like HBO does.

Anyway, Netflix is constantly offering free trials. Sign up after Clone Wars becomes available, watch the 13 episodes (depending on the trial, that's only an episode or two a day), then cancel.

I tried to do a free trial with Netfix once when they first made it available through consoles. It took 3 calls to their customer service line and a credit card chargeback to get the thing canceled.

Never watched The Clone Wars with any consistency, this is a great incentive for me to run thru the series so far.

That looks very nice.  Hopefully the Rebels series will keep the best part of CW while dumping the cheesy stuff.  The "political" episodes in CW are mind-numblingly terrible while the Clone episodes are usually very good.

I couldn't think of anywhere else to put this, but I picked up my first Star Wars novel in 8 years, X-Wing: Mercy Kill by Aaron Allston. The las one was Revenge of the Sith. I had long since given up on the god awful New Jedi Order books long ago, and everything I'd read about the newer stuff turning the books into a giant trainwreck made me shake my head, but I couldn't resist this. Behind Zahn and Stackpole, Allston was one of the best Star Wars novelists who picked up and ran with the X-wing series when Stackpole had other commitments. Wish me luck!!!

Season 6 is up on Netflix or Torrent download. I spent the whole day watching all 13 episodes of the lost season. Great stuff,a dark in tone season with some good episodes.

2 Jar Jar eps are a waste of time but hey.

The Sifo Dias arc was great.

Now we wait for the new Rebels series.

I read some spoilers about that first arc. . . . Damn.

And instead of Jar Jar, they couldn't give us some final resolution on Rex's story or showed us what happened with Maul?

Hope this will see a DVD release at some point. The last two seasons were great, minus a few "meh" eps. The final season looks to be suitably dark with some good storytelling.  I'm glad the same folks are behind Rebels.

I like how each episode they're weaning us from the new trilogy music to the original trilogy music.

Just started this show a couple weeks ago and just into the 3rd season. Have to say it's pretty good.

I'd say it had a general upwards trend---season 4 is the best, followed by 5.

Movie happens after the series, so this is all set inbetween AOTC and ROTS

Clone Wars theatrical movie is set right at the beginning of the TV series. Technically before it--I mean, that's where Anakin and Asokha meet, while they already know each other in the very first ep of the series IIRC.

Yup. Though the Clone Wars series did have a very non-linear format an would have episodes that where leading up to the events of the movie, which would place them in the past...without comment, and would leave it up to the viewer to know what was happening.

A few years ago I tried to watch season 1 of The Clones Wars, and well, it didn't go so well. I don't believe I even finished it. I can't recall if I posted about it on here or not, but the experience for me was something like watching the worst parts of Episodes I and II over and over again as an episodic TV series. As the years went by I was confused by the fan base that seemed to have grown around it. When things kinda blew up over its cancelation, I thought perhaps I needed to give the series another try. Boy, am I glad I did.

Thanks to the glory of Netflix, I was recently able to binge on all 6 seasons. Getting through season 1 again was tough, but season 2 certainly proved that it was worth the effort--and it only got better from there. It was great to see so many plot holes and glaring narrative gaps finally filled in. And some of the story arcs were simply riviting. It wasn't all roses, though; the occasional lapse into season 1-type storylines were utterly painful to sit through (4 episodes of droids in season 5 and 4 episodes of Padme goes to the bank and Jar Jar saves the galaxy in season 6 were particularly bad). Also troublesome was the sheer amount of retconning going on that became somewhat frustrating at times (of both and the movies and the EU, but I suppose being that TCW is EU it's to be expected). Another thing that nagged at me was the character model change (season 2? or was that season 3?) that left Anakin looking EXACTLY like popular Star Wars voice actor Sam Witwer, down to his very facial expressions. Everytime I saw him I couldn't help but notice it.

I'm sad to see this show go, as it clearly had the narrative legs to carry it through to its conclusion. Even for its stumbles, they got so much right that the series is just something that should not be missed by any Star Wars fan.

There is so much I could and would talk about here, but I feel those moments have passed with the discussions that has come before as each new episode aired.

It'd of been nice if it ended with a bridge between the series and ROTS....it's really to bad.

Duke----I've said it for years----just skip any episode that is clearly going to be a droid/jarjar/senate-political-padme ep based on the preview. Just watch and enjoy the clones and Jedi, and you won't miss anything.

I dunno, I thought the one with R2 and the lil general guy was kind of a fun story arc. wasn't amazing, but it was okay.

It had a "female" astromech droid that was colored pink... Yeah, I fast-forwarded through it until the Republic Commando showed up.

Finished off the series on Netflix the other night. The final Yoda story arc that rounds out the series is pretty epic. Ties into Episode III well. Overall, I liked the series, I went into it pretty skeptical, and almost gave up a few times, but glad I finished it.
