I'm stoked about it, but I noticed one of my old favorites is missing. It may have been Animag, but it was probably Animerica, and it had the attached Gunbuster image on the cover. To date this issue, it has as a news item the development of a Gundam movie with something called an F91, a article on Yotoden, High Speed Jecy, and ads for Frederick Schodt's translation of Tomino's Gundam novel released by Del Rey. The back cover is an ad for the rerelease of the 1/55 Roy Fokker Super Valkryie by Pony-Toy-Go-Round in LA. Anyway, I thought it also had a little bit of info on DYRL. I remember a picture of Breetai in his DYRL form. And, I remembered having a magazine with that Pony-Toy-Go-Round ad! So it must have been this one. Hell, I think that's why I bought it. Thank you so much, Seven! If I can't find that issue in my mom's garage, I'll have to try to get it online. armentage Posted September 26, 2005 Share Posted September 26, 2005 You know, I don't know where I got it form, but some how I ended up with a copy of Animag 12 sometime in 1990. I didn't order it, I think US Renditions sent it to me as some sort of a promotion for having bought the Robotech VHS Box set from them (FHE!) Man, that brings back some memories. I remember looking through those old magazines in rapt AWE of that stuff, thinking "these must be the best stories EVER!" Sure, looking back, most of the titles they were reviewing were junk imitations of the other titles that were well known here (L-Gaim, various Ninja stuff, etc), but it did make an impression. Seven Posted September 27, 2005 Share Posted September 27, 2005 Just so you know, the editor of Animag was the same editor for Viz's Animerica - Trish Ledoux. For some reason, I love how Animag was. I absolutely hated Animerica. Maybe it was nostalgia... no wait, it was the constant Ranma covers and stories and embarrasing reader contributions for cosplay pictures or amazingly bad drawings that made me hate Animerica. I just found out that Animerica is no more! June was their last issue. How upsetting! If they were still publishing I'd get a subscription. I might subscribe to Protoculture Addicts instead.
