Hey everyone! Just wanted people who don't frequent the Building/Customizing Macross Models & Toys section of the forums to be aware that slowly but surely - items I've made and produced from Shapeways.com are becoming available to you. This started initially as my own custom pieces meant just for me - but as the items grew in ambition and complexity, I thought it a waste if no one else got the chance to have these in their collection.

As mentioned above they came about in 2 of my own threads customizing a Queadluun Rau and a VF-11C; http://www.macrosswo...showtopic=35459 & http://www.macrosswo...showtopic=36209 - shapeways pieces and WIP at the end of the threads.

Currently I've finished 99% of my DYRL to TV Queadluun Rau conversion pieces - with only a new hip/waist articulation to go and have finished wing-clip attachments for VF-11s to allow attachments of any current 1/60 missiles and the freshly made HMMs. I have also completed a 1/60 Queadluun Rhea Impact Cannon and pieces to attach to a Q.Rau and for a VF-25 to use as a rifle.

More items will become available as I get them and inspect them personally for detail fidelity and material properties to ensure the best product possible.

They are available here; http://www.shapeways.com/shops/RPG

Without giving too much away - expect much more love for the VF-11, VF-0 and Zentran Mecha. I am open to suggestions or requests - but they're subject to my work load.

I will update this thread when items become available. I will continue the above custom threads with the build-ups and eventual completions in their respective threads.

Peace!

EDIT: Trying to add a poll!

Glad to see your stuff up. There are a few things I definitely want to pick up when I get my paycheck. Most of it is not for sale on the site. Are you waiting for prototypes to come to you, waiting to check for quality control, or just haven't set up the option yet? Either way, thanks or the link.

Just ordered the wing adapters and the missile 4 pack, I always thought the VFs looked naked without any underwing stores. Thank you and keep us posted on anything new, my YF-19 and VF-22s could use some extra love too!

Cheers Jasonc! Yes, I'm about to do a new shipment today - the stuff not for sale is stuff I've yet to inspect in-hand. I don't want u guys to be the guinea pigs :D I'll post in this thread when those parts are available. Having an issue with the arms and feet - at the moment they're $40 each - which is not acceptable. Actively trying to make these as cheap as possible - so please bear with me.

Awesome! Thanks Sluff! Please let me know if u encounter any problems or any suggestions you may have. I don't have a YF-19 so I can't actively and accurately make thing for that - if I see a super cheap one - I will get it... I was instantly in love when the old bird showed up in the last Frontier movie :D Wink wink nudge nudge.

I do, however have a VF-22 :D That has a few things I wish to fix/augment. Stay tuned for that one too :D

I'm totally down for the missiles and bombs shown in the various master file books, new gunpods (your beam cannon design on your q-rau page is excellent), head units, whatever else you can think of!

Thanks Eugi! I already mentioned (in the Rau thread) that I will make a back-pack for a Queadluun-Nona conversion - but I never liked the cowl/head design for it - I will however make a head unit based off the Queadluun-Quilqua Battle Suit for the Nona. Perhaps some new arm tri-barrels or boob guns to further differentiate the design from the original 1/60 Rau. Again, open to suggestions for things!

Also, while on semester break - I was advised I am no longer employed on a full time basis.... So... more time to make Macross stuff? Hahaha. Good thing I have a very caring and understanding waifu.

Now - I've gotten a few e-mails and PMs about what parts are needed for a Rau conversion - let me say this; You DO NOT need ALL the pieces to make the conversion - but some are essential and some are some small details that will be minor details overall. I will now explain :D ;

For a minimum DYRL to TV conversion, you will need;

- Head Unit - http://www.shapeways...-head-unit.html

- Shoulder Missile Hub set - http://www.shapeways...es-tv-type.html

- Knee Missile Hub set - http://www.shapeways...ile-hub-x2.html

- Left & Right Forearm & Hand set - http://www.shapeways.com/model/609505/hembra-xeno-mech-forearm-and-hand-l-amp-r-set.html (This is the best I could do, managed to whittle down some $$$ on this set)

- Feet & Ankle set - http://www.shapeways...ch-foot-x2.html

The extras (not essential) & explanations;

- Antennae (A DYRL style, TV inspired antennae) - http://www.shapeways...h-antennae.html

- Pauldrons (Clip-on TV style shoulder armour) - http://www.shapeways...h-pauldron.html

- Back-pack Greebles (Parts to insert into the thrusters and a piece to glue onto the upper back) - http://www.shapeways...s-backpack.html

- Weapon Greeble (Slightly different style tri-barrel wrist guns, was worried the default ones would be a bit tight & new TV accurate Boob-guns) - http://www.shapeways...es-weapons.html

- Back-pack and Weapon greeble set (above 2 sets in one set to save money) - http://www.shapeways...h-greebles.html

- Waist extension piece (2 sizes - experimental pieces to give a bit of height and allow side to side twist) - http://www.shapeways...twist-test.html

- Single set of Hands (If you only want to fix your floopy & droopy originals) - http://www.shapeways...pulator-x2.html

- Impact Cannon (From M.Frontier; Q.Rhea & New Zentran type - comes with parts to allow wing pylon & rifle grip attachments) - http://www.shapeways...cto-cannon.html

- Impact Cannon Hub (Piece to replace 1 shoulder missile hub to allow a Impact Cannon to be installed (L or R side) on your Rau) - http://www.shapeways...cannon-hub.html

Please note the Feet and Arms will be constantly updated and all over the place today as I try different things to bring down the cost.

I hope this clears up any confusion!

EDIT: Rearranged the feet for a better print - but could not reduce the price no matter how hard I tried - the Arm Set now has both arms and also rearranged to take approx $15 off this.

Just sent off the MASSIVE order! Should be here within the month - barring any issues - and will update in the separate custom threads. Weeeeeeee!

Of course it is - not sure how well some of the details will hold up, however - will will u know once I've received the 1/60 version. For some reason shapeways would not allow WSF Polished, just regular WSF - so it'll require sanding and clean-up before painting.

Had some minor hiccups with the wing clips and HMMs for the VF-11 which have been resolved now. Fixed them up and everything seems to be cool now - I hope.

Anyways, the following are now available;

- Aileron clip-ons to attach HMMs & pylons to your VF-11B/C (also works with other Yamato 1/60 missiles) - http://www.shapeways.com/model/599630/relampago-wing-adapters-x2.html

- HMM and Pylon set (4 pack) - http://www.shapeways.com/model/606932/relampago-missile-amp-pylon-x4.html

- HMM and Pylon set (1 pack) - http://www.shapeways.com/model/599616/relampago-missile-amp-pylon-x1.html

- Set of 12 hard points (for those adventurous enough that want to glue these onto their valk's wings) - http://www.shapeways.com/model/625101/1-60-set-of-12-6l-amp-6r-hard-points-for-wings.html

Update: Issues with wall thickness on the small indents on the wing-clips, which I now removed and thickness of air-intake on the HMM which is now fixed, again. SIGH. Making unavailable for a few hours to make sure the model on their servers is replaced by this new one.

Last time I make such fiddly small pieces. Next time an entire wing replacement instead of clip-ons. What a nightmare. Will advise once it's ok.

In other news - making DAMN SURE nothing on the VF-0C/D conversion parts are less than 1mm in detail.

Oh, hah.. I should have read that better.. I was about to ask if you'd be able to make blank wings with the hardpoints, instead of the clip on ones. ^_^

I'd love to get some spare wings with hardpoints, especially for the YF/VF-19s, and VF-25s.

Actually, what I'd love is a conversion kit to turn a VF-19P into a VF-19S.. but that would be a lot more extensive, and would need to include the entire wing glove assembly, as well as a new head and shoulders... but I'd settle for the wing gloves if you could pull it off. :)

Until I get a VF-19 (pre-ordered a 19F!!!) I can't say if and when I can make the new wings/wing gloves. But if the VF-11 wing-clips are rejected for the 3rd time (keeping in mind I already had them printed and IN-HAND) I'll go about making replacement wings for the VF-11.

But that will have to wait in after the VF-0C/D conversion parts and then 2 major projects I have planned for the VF-11 and VF-0.

Thanks for everyone's patience!

  • 1 month later...

Ok dudes - parts for the TV Queadluun Rau conversion are up and available at Shapeways.com - enjoy!

Please have a look at the Rau custom thread for progress on the build - if interested. It's almost done, then will continue work on the VF-0C/D conversion!

Ok, the VF-0C conversion is complete!

Everything you need to convert your 1/60 VF-0A in to a VF-0C is available at the links below - I have put on hold the head unit for the D-type, due to my potential work schedule.

Also, another thing to note is, unlike all my other releases, I have not ordered or tested this kit in-hand, contract work has dried up for me and all my funds were near blown out with the re-release of the VE-1 and SSP's that come out - along with the impending VF-4! I'll have to wait until maybe march next year to test these - so buyer beware.

So after taking it off line for a while now, I finally got around to fixing the HMMs after several rejections; thickened up the main wings as per last rejection - lets hope Shapeways hasn't further tightened their tolerances;

1 HMM; http://www.shapeways.com/model/599616/relampago-missile-amp-pylon-x1.html?li=productBox-search

4 HMMs; http://www.shapeways.com/model/606932/relampago-missile-amp-pylon-x4.html?li=productBox-search

I can't wait to see the build of on these kits. I've been using Mr. Surfacer 500 for the initial primer layers on the White strong and flexible to sand. And then finishing it off with the 1000 grit to make it smooth. Maybe it'll work with you guys also. Don't forget to blow off the build up powder first and then wash the pieces thoroughly. Good luck!

And finally, inspired by the picture in the VF-1 Master file book, Gunpod carts for both the VF-1 and VF-0;

VF-1; http://www.shapeways...lkyrie.html?li=

VF-0; http://www.shapeways...-fenix.html?li=

They may look the same, but they're made for each specific gunpod's diameter. I can easily make it adaptable for other gunpods also - although they're at a fixed height.

Sorry Tober, can't afford it at the moment, my contract work unexpectedly dried up until march next year, haven't even been able to even order the VF-0C conversion kit due to this also. Then my account took a month to do my tax return which turned out to be 5% of what I received last year - which was a bummer. Threw everything out of whack - now I think I have to cancel my orders for the VF-4, VF-19P and fast packs for the 171... Poor me I know. I'll stop ranting.

The FUD or ultra detail should show those details fine.

Anyone interested in more dyrl hands and/or dyrl hands for the GBP armour?

Great job on the Gunpod carts. There is just one thing missing from them: the towing boom...

post-664-0-66524200-1353455476_thumb.jpg

Uuuuuuurgh... OOOOOOOKAY. :p Taking them offline on shapeways until I make the booooms.

1/48 .....Do it.....Do it!tumblr_lka9rhi8aT1qadbq2o1_400.gif

AAAAAHHAHAHAAA, God I love that gif... If you can tell me the diameter of the main section of the gunpod, I'll make it. I am assuming that the 1/48 is exactly the same proportions as the 1/60?

Great job, Kurisama! Thanks a lot!

No problemo at all :D
