I figured that goes without saying...Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending them in any stretch of the imagination, but it may be a reason why they are so gun-shy about going in total different directions.
Oh I agree it was a disaster, but at least they did actually try at one point.
Of course, one could you it as an excuse (I wouldn't) for why they are so gun-shy about doing parallel stories...
Didn't they try to do that with Robotech 3000?
We know how that went...
Granted it was only one trailer, and I don't think anybody really knows the direction they wanted to go.
To this day I believe (or rather I'd like to believe) that they originally wanted to make a trasnforming version of the toy (especially since they managed to make one of the hovertank...), but had to abandon that plan when they rushed it to market; of course I have nothing to back that up...
I downloaded a trailer from PSN, and it looked good.
Unfortuantely, it's an MMO, and my policy on them is: I refuse to pay to play a game I've already bought.
Still, I hope this game turns out well.
Here is a rare occurrence where I'm defending fan fiction writers:
1 - They fully acknowledge the work of the creators, and they do NOT own them.
2 - Distributed for free (or at least non-profit).
Which of course, totally doesn't apply to RT.
