  1. I'm not sure if this is news to anyone here, but the US Government has been operating several Su-27's for over a decade. It wasn't the USA government that bought two Su-27's from the Ukraine a year or so ago, it was the Tactical Air Support company which provides aggressor training to the US Navy. Although the unit has been "officially" deactivated, the 6513th Test Squadron "Red Hats" flies MiG-29's and Su-27's out of groom lake for both air combat testing/training and ground/missile/air radar/sensor testing. The USA also purchased 21 nuclear-capable MiG-29's from Moldova in 1997. If you search around the net you can find many pics and vids of the MiGs and Sukhois at groom lake (stay away from those UFO-believing crazies, though). Also, pics of one of TacAir's Flankers:
  2. Looks to be completely dead from the discussion here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/macross-do-you-remember-love
  3. Sorry to revive this dead thread, but I thought I would mention that Ace Frontier is playable on JPCSP: http://jpcsp.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=5348 Ultimate Frontier is still not working though... Also for those who don't know, the PS2 SDF Macross game (and the entire ACE series) have been playing just fine on the PCSX2 emulator for a while now, and the PSX games of course work just fine on the epsxe emulator. If you can't get macross for PS2 working on PCSX2, just disable sound during the intro and enable the IOPx2 hack. If you have any issues just post here or PM me. Here's a screen of the PS2 Macross game running on my PC: NOTE: as pointed out earlier, you DO need a bit of a powerhouse of a PC to run the PCSX2 emulator at full speed. ESPECIALLY in the CPU department. My old overclocked CD2 E6600 rig just managed to run most games at full speed. I have a i7 920 processor now though and games don't even hiccup, although be aware that the games only run on a max of two cores in PCSX2.
  4. I'm trying to not read anything in this thread yet, because I am ashamed to say that I am currently watching Macross 7 for the first time. I had watched all the previous series a long while ago (and then frontier last year), but I stayed away from Macross 7 because I had always heard bad things about it from some people I know. I even bought a bunch of Macross 7 manga a few years ago (the trash series and dynamite) because I saw it on sale for less than 100yen a volume at a BookOff store, but I haven't read it yet because of the bad rep of Macross 7 that I had put into my head. Well, let me say that I regret not seeing this anime sooner. The first 10 eps were quite uninteresting... but I'm up to ep 34 now and I am LOVING this series. It's sad to think that once I finish Macross 7 and Dynamite 7 that there will be no more "new" Macross out there for me to watch, I guess I will have to wait for the frontier movies to come out and then maybe another series 5 or so years down the road like everyone else.....
  5. Has anyone managed to get this game running on a PC emulator yet? I would like to give it a try before I throw some money down for it, as I will probably do anyways considering it seems like a good game. I've got Ace Frontier (which I own already) working fine on the Jpcsp emulator (minus the sound for some reason), but I can't get Ultimate Frontier working, probably because it is encrypted unlike Ace Frontier is.
  6. I saw the special version of VF-X2 on sale at a superpotato (http://www.superpotato.com/) in Osaka in early 2007 for only ~35,000 yen. Who knows, maybe they still have some copies left even now. WAY out of my pricerange for something like a PS game...
  7. Nice to meet everyone, I just joined today. I've been a huge fan of Macross after seeing Macross Plus for the first time in 1996, but for some reason I had never been interested in buying toys before. The first time I came across a Yamato Macross toy was when I saw the YF-19 and some VF-1's on display at yellowsubmarine and volks in japan when I was there in 2006. For some reason I didn't buy them, probably because I didn't have that kind of money to spend on toys at the time... Well, now I just bought a YF-19-00, VE-1, and this VF-11B beauty all just a few minutes ago. My bank account is in ruins...
