A question on VEFR-1

It has a head. The radome's covering it, like a hat. ;)

Here's a write-up of the limited information I've managed to scrounge up about it (note: green is official setting, blue is extended universe, and black is unofficial).

Thanks a lot! Is there any link to show what the head looks like?

Oh! So that's what it's for.

Luckily I have scans of the book on my HD (from way back, part of a project that the retconning of MF, M0 et al has rendered redundant).

Alas the photographs themselves are half in shadow... at the very least, it should give you some dimensional references...

Note: the Hobby Handbook came out in 1983 - which begs the question: how much are the differences from the line art due to artistic license? How much are they do to the limits of modelling technology?

PS heh... never noticed the Minmei on the leg before...

It's an interesting valk, but ugly as can be. What scale are you going to do it in?

Hi Jason, ^_^, the VEFR-1 head is not a beautiful one. From the instrumental information shared by Sketchley, I know that it is suppose to be similar to VE-1. So I got an idea to do a modification based on my VF-1E head.

I natually starts from 1/48 but this one I am considering 1/60 also. However, man, we all know, after my VF-1E and your VA-3, that it is not an easy work. So it would be great if you can take over the 1/60 line development.

This guy did his own interpretation. You have to register for FG-Site but it's free.

Many thanks for sharing the information. This is a super cool website containing so much great information.

Also a big fan of your replacement shoulder, really an amazing work!
