  1. That's probably the best version of the vf-4 I've seen yet (for gaming). And yes! A clam shell mollusk that actually OPENS! Sweet!
  2. Nice, are you working with AA or just based off his works? TriggerFish, Lionfish, ect... I have a few of arisul's meshes as well as AA's first "batch". Thanks to a mutual contact, I salvaged most of them from a HD crash, but I haven't talked to AA in years. He ever get the Ikazuchi finished? It made me drool!
  3. @ Frothymug, yeah FS2 is the easiest game I've found to mod. On a good day I can get a viable Fighter mesh imported and running in about 20mins(or less). Renders are fine, but I'd rather see stuff blow up! Don't you agree? One of the intros I've VA'ed for, TBP: RELIC (EA Civil WAr) FSOpen New Trailer: Homage to 1&2 fan made mission as a cutscene with in-game resources. EPIC!
  4. Yeah digitally, I use a set of archaic programs: Truespace 3.2, Irfranview, 3dexploration 1.883, and various others... I'm a member of many game forums (where I first found out and got into modding). Over time I wanted to try to create something myself but then found out I have no talent or skill for it. Seriously, 3d programs are worse than greek to me! Aside from straight conversions I started doing in like 2003, around 2005 I experimented with a program called DOGA. DOGA is like a part library and you just put the pieces together. As a child I use to have a toy set called a "droid factory" and by assembling different parts you could make permutations of droids. Same thing... Like a Mr Potato head, but for spaceships! Then I figured if I could learn how to take just parts that inspired me off other models I could "kit-bash" my own just like DOGA. I just do this for my own enjoyment. Occasionally, people like what I come up with. Some of my latest bashes: Alien fighters 2 flavors StarWars parts that unintentionally turned out very StarFox-like My interpretation of SDF-3 SC-style, less boxy, more character... KA Style YAMATO, from SFC3 parts, still a WIP Lastly, EDF Avenger with EDF Andromeda above it (for scale), unarmed still WIP...
  5. Hehe. looks like it's hauling butt! WIP ARMD (interpritation): Kitbashed since I have no 3d skills. Deck is like 12polys from the hw1 model just for reference (new texture), will be replaced as well as later addition of bridge, back plate, rear thruster and misc extras... I wager I am 60% done... Model currently at 5k polys.

  7. Yes, but even if they turn out terrible, people will STILL want to eat them! You could also make frosting Valkyries launching, and assorted defense mecha.
  8. Ah, I didn't realize it was a direct inspiriation (from SC). I only saw it once and disavowed it. Anyway Number 1 is sexier, but Number 2 is more practical. Just make Number 1 match colorwise and we'll see.

  10. The opening movie is awesome (Go cuz!!!), but when it got to gmaeply why are the characters done so... Painfully? It was also as bad as flash? Why not go for something like Enix-style FF animation? I mean, they did everything else top notch, why slack off on the characters? No offense was intended.
  11. One question... IS she running to get finished dressing? Cause the dancer has stocking feet. You didn't put any visible shoes or BOOTS on her! To me it just looks odd. Oh and TY TY TY, for NOT making her need to sew an anti-gravity lift device in her bra to keep SC style tits up!
  12. To what are you referring. HW2 or the SINS mod? Since you joined yesterday I'll give you some information. Some mods take YEARS to get done. I really get a kick out of the audacity of some people to dictate their "expectations" on other people's work. I seriously hope you don't become one of these "people". Modders have a thing called Real Life. Aside from all the pitfalls and curves that throws at participants there are also times when staff come and go. Or even when critical slots are never filled. I definitely root for this mod and hope it continues to go as smoothly as it has (so far) for the Devs. However, like all mod teams, they work on THEIR time table and no one else's. -------- It's a good idea never to leak any expectations of time releases (like teasers, demos, or final releases) until you are actually at the cusp of it. Fans can get unruly and out of hand. It's rough sometimes dealing with "hecklers" and worse the types that walk in and start BS about C&D threats and what not. Most of the time however those are new people and not established Community members. So carry on guys! You've done quality work and we'll be waiting pateintly as always.

  14. To be fair, cockpit making has been a fairly restricted effort by people. (Scooby Doo for WC and the SW team for FOTG offhand). A generic Terran Cockpit had been made by Venom/Nico and refined by others for community use. Several of the HTL Terrans now use it or variants. There is more interest in making more, but not much as the peopel who can are basically busy doing other things as a priority. Usually every 1-2 months someoen comes by and bumps a thread about them and gets the run down. What do you mean by a number pad interface? That can be redone via key bindings in every incarnation of the game. I prefer my hat-switch and 8-Stick buttons. (logitech Wingman 3D) I intend to use the Bothec DYRL cockpit model for the VF-1's for all Macross-era aircraft. I'm keeping Destroids as NPC's so none is needed for those.
  15. No more... That policy changed about 4 months ago. "Good old Games" has the rights to sell it now, and they charge $6.00 for a direct DL Because we do not support piracy all DL links to any NON scp work, has been deleted. Only standalones work without retail FS2 installs: Wing Commander, B5, and the BTRL Total Conversions. Everything else needs the retail data you can only buy now. You have eyepoint HUD, cockpit view (If the model has one like most HTL user made or SCP ones now do), and the 3rd person outside cam (that you can zoom in out, and move around). So I guess that would be the "Chase" cam. The retail fighters do not have the cockpit view. They are slowly being replced with SCP media VP versions that are much more detailed on the ourtside as well. Like by a factor of 4-5...
