  1. Yeah, I have not heard anything to the contrary either, which is why it seems odd that they would not want, what is arguably their best licensee (so far), to produce DYRL themed VF-1's.... With that said, alot has changed and it's possible that HG has placed a moratorium on itself when it comes to their DYRL licensing for some reason we are not aware of yet...perhaps HG and BW had decided to revisit that quagmire at some point after their initial deal... The fact that BW still cannot release DYRL merch outside of Japan makes it clear that at least those specific merch rights are not in the hands of BW....
  2. LOL...exactly.....whatever "new" deal is going on during this "licensing meeting" in Japan...it sounds like HG is involved....I think with one of largest media companies in the planet now tangentially involved with "Macross"....both sides may be more inclined to work together....I think HG allowing SDFM/DYRL to stream on D+ may work in HG's favor, in terms of their Hollywood film aspirations....and of course, BW wins by finally being able to market SDFM/DYRL outside of Japan....
  3. Are you referring to DYRL licensing outside of Japan? Clearly, BW controls all licensing for DYRL within Japan (ex. BW sticker on all DYRL Bandai DX releases)... Per @Seto Kaiba he says the "merch" rights still belong to HG outside of Japan....perhaps this is no longer the case? The only info I have is from KC....I had inquired a few years ago when they were first starting out if they would be producing DYRL-themed VF-1's and they said they "could not" because they could not get a license for it....they did not provide any other details so I am not sure if that meant that they could not get it from HG or from BW....since they are already getting a SDFM TV license from HG, I am thinking they could not get a DYRL license from HG.....so perhaps something has changed, in terms of HG's ability or willingness to dole out DYRL licenses outside of Japan....
  4. Not sure...looking over their items, most of it is available for immediate shipment....as far as I can tell, they have plenty of unsold stock....guess collectors were not willing to bite even at their "shocking" prices.....shocking... The only stuff sold out are some of the earliest of releases, such as the first Rick Hunter and Lisa Hayes figures....but those were released years ago Maybe they think making their stuff available to the Japanese market will make their inventory fly off the shelves? Still, if they can convince BW/HG or whatever combination of licensors that they should be allowed to sell in Japan, then that may open the door for Bandai and Arcadia, etc to be able to sell their merch SDFM/DYRL merch outside of Japan....one can only hope!
  5. No one in their right mind would buy any of this trash....in either case....if you really wanted to know about any of the non-film "backstory"....there are plenty of sites that will glady provide it to you for the clicks...lol Disney/Lucasfilm must be making alot of money from the die-hard fans to keep leaving in the plot holes to sustain the side media sales....not really that surprising though....
  6. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0q6SsUQwrYo7xMyiPtmR7Xejxj7SkhmSTzbcN58Ks19Gmo2azs9AWFvZ8W8SViF5Kl&id=100063694550227 Wonder if this a meeting to setup some deal to sell KC's "Robotech" in Japan... If so...what a waste of time and effort...the Japanese market already has better versions of any SDFM TV item available to them from a variety of Japanese vendors...and I doubt there is a hoard of Japanese collectors demanding Southern Cross merch... What KC needs is a license from BW to produce DYRL merch, as it seems HG is no longer willing to provide their license (whether it is theirs to provide or not) to KC or anyone else... That box of "goodies" will likely end up in some Japanese dumpster after the "licensing" meeting...
  7. Five years have past since the creation of this thread and we are still waiting for a POST Skywalker movie and/or project of any kind...
  8. Another KC QC issue...shocking! I transformed mine into battroid months ago and have left them untouched ever since...I will check when I get a chance....maybe this QC issue just affects the latest set that was offered at a "shocking" price?
  9. There is nothing memorable about the sequels other than they all shat on everything that made Star Wars a fan favorite franchise....the damage being so bad that it is still recovering...with absolutely nothing credible announced to move the story forward...so basically, it's greatest feat was, so far, destroying the IP's ability to move forward...which ironically was its reason for existing... The sequels have at least one memorable piece of music....Duel of the Fates....4 Sith Lords...an entire episode that is mostly great...Revenge of the Sith...and a perfect ending to its trilogy....heck...by RotS you more or less completely forget about Jar Jar Binks and most of the bad bits that most usually complain about...
