Also adding gun mounts so turrets can swivel!

This is pretty amazing..

I'd like to know of your process on smoothing edges, ridding off seam lines and how you build the core of the pieces..

in other words you'd like me to show it step by step? not a problem.... ill make a pictorial soon then... :D

What a masterpiece!! I tried making this one time...but I have pretty shaky hands. That is a lot of detail and personally, I think that is a lot better then when its just printed out. Oh and a...if your interested in selling it...SELL IT TO A DANG MUSEAM SO YOU CAN MAKE A FREAKING FUNCTIONAL SDF-1!!!!! :D

Do I spy HP laptop fan grill in those thruster builds?

Tangently on topic old pc hard drives have one or two of those magnets in each on the read heads they have really small ones great for attaching stuff.

Beyond Awesome work.

Some insights into your methods would be great, I failed last time I tried to do this with a paper craft model.

actually those "grills" are hand made from scratch based on resin parts from Yamato's 1/3000 SDF-1 assembly kit..

The trick is to make it sturdy ill make a pictorial after the completion of this model where i step by step show the process of

making a part for this cruiser. B))

If they released one with any less detail than yours...it would be disappointing....Honestly, the guns don't even rotate on the DYRL 1/3000 they released....

When yours is completed...someone should tweet a pic to Mr. K...

Again, very impressive work!

I can't wait!!!

But I will...

Oh yeah...the other guy that doesn't really have to wait.... :p

OK today i have a treat for you guys, ;) im gonna show you the SDF-1

fully assembled and painted.... :o

bare in mind that the weathering is not finished yet, and still need striping in various

places, like the yellow stripe around the main engine thrusters,

the red striping on the "shoulders" and midship.

the Rail Cannons still needs some paint...

Anyway here we go!! B))
