  1. i'm 21 with 11 years experience ok,i'm 32.first saw a valk on that robotech show back when i was just 5 or 6. i've had about 10 custom 1/55's,2 reissues,4 1/60 yamato's,3 1/72 yamato's & 3 1/48 yamato's(1 of them a custom).i'm now starting to aquire everything for my first,full 1/48 custom by a major player here.i'm not much on keeping a large volume of toys,just a few very select & choice pieces.
  2. ok,A1,you had me at the milf contest dude, you definately should get this co-admin.gig. the small cup assigned to mear members ain't deep enough to hold your mojo dude may they smile upon you with much pomp & fanfair.maybe you'll get a neat stripe to sew to your command trousers & many-a-medal adorning your tunic.i'm sure you'll get a preposterously big commodore hat too perhaps a commoner to drive your command car as well.
  3. this thread kinda reminds me of a bunch of old guys(girls too) sitting around the porch on a hot summer day talking about the good old days & all the folks they knew from days past.it's neat to see how most folks on here are a more mature group who's coolness is always present.now, one of you fine gents pull out your stash of your kin's finest 'shine & let's drink to our friends here old & new. btw, anybody hear anything from "crusaderdrake"? sold my very first custom to him many years ago.he was out east here in maryland originally.
  4. i remember "motherfocker".dude, that guy was on the old,old boards i think.i think me might have had 2-3 upgrades since i remember seeing him around
  5. ah fudrom, i remember you man.another good 'ol boy from way back yonder.
  6. ah,maryland is my 2nd home.i frequent "select-fire" indoor range with mechamaniac when i go shooting.i love that place,i've never been to a place that rents you full-auto weapons to try.my only option here in delaware near my house is the police range & it's weak compared to "select-fire"
  7. he was the only designer to create a mech that has held my attention & adoration for 22 years now.i just feel that he perfectly blended a touch of humanity & realism to the vf-1 and it works.it's believable in the way it transforms, but still holds a "used" feel.dirt, burn marks and scoring make it look like it actually goes to work every day.i love the way it seems to have a living human soul when it moves in battroid mode.sure, the pilot may add the humanity, but i feel the machine exudes it's own too.he's definately my favorite mecha designer of all time because he has designed the vf-1 with the true soul of an artist.those that appreciate art know what i'm talking about.the artists vision is more than just what's visible in front of you,it's a feeling too.
  8. you know myk,i believe lebhead did catch some flak for the racey lebatars.i don't remember the dynamics of it really, but i wanna say maybe someone was worried about younger members seeing them.i do remember his nose was quite out of joint over the whole thing though. hmmm,i didn't know tom64ss had moved from jersey.i did alot of business with him for a while there,i hope his move worked out for him.
  9. i've encountered a very different attitude from women about guns.i've almost never had a lady that was a friend or girlfriend have this irrational fear of guns.most that i know are pretty good shots, even from the beggining.are the comments of womens profitiency with firearms & performance in military situations derived from data obtained from studies conducted soley in the us? if israel & china continue to have women serve in their armies & train them side by side with men to fight with assault weapons, isn't their a reason for that? wasn't a peasant woman in vietnam fighting with her male viet-cong counterparts just as deadly with that heavy AK? i'll have to admit, most of the girls i've shot with have been foreign born.i'm curious to know if the irrational fear some women have is a localized phenomenon.
  10. i'd like to know how many of my fellow gun enthusiasts here have wives or girlfriends interested in guns/shooting.i'll bet it's more than we think.btw, guys,if you,ve never asked your girl if she'd like to try,do it man,i'll bet the answer will be yes more often than no.
  11. hey bromgrev, your post about the chicks got me thinking of the special i saw on history channel about the women who serve in israel's armed forces.i think they were saying that all citizens serve at 1 time or another, even women.watching a sexy chick train on the range with a full-auto uzi was pretty hot. my last girlfriend served some time in the people's republic of china's army for some time too.i loved hearing about the training she had with the AK-47. i was very happy when my current girlfriend told me she'd love to go to the range & learn how to use my XD-9MM. it's great when your women are cool with you having guns & enjoy shooting them & collecting them, but it's an even greater joy for me when my lady wants to shoot too.now,i know that if i happen to be away when a scum-bag breaks in,she'd be safe & smoke the guy without hesitating just like i would. i've had alot of chicks ask me to show them how to shoot my guns.the 1st time was when my buddy's girl wanted to try my pistol-grip mossberg 590 12 guage.i was very hesitant, but she was very excited to try,so i loaded some bird-shot & gave it to her & taught her what to do & BOOM!!!!.then she turned to me & asked me to load some #4 turkey loads or 00buck if i have it please.i was shocked, but i've since learned that most girls who want to shoot are just as hardcore as us guys are.when i 1st taught a lady to shoot my 9mm at a range,i found that the only part that scared them was when the spent shell ejected.it seems to always target your face, but i,ve found that that didin't even phase them at all if you warn them. alot of guys fantasize about lara croft from tomb raider, but it may not be neccessary any more guys, our very own wives & girlfriends may already be more hardcore than she will ever be
  12. yeah, the half naked max & hikaru lebatar has scarred me for life.
  13. ah,i remember red heat.did he fade away too? is "lebhead" still here with any kind of regularity? i don't remember seeing much from him in quite a while.i miss all those old-schoolers that made me feel at home when i was a newbie here all those years ago.hope they're doing well.
  14. "vlenhoff",forum member "mechamaniac" has this kit from the cap.he was the 1st to get it i believe.the valk you see in the caps instructions in the beggining of this thread is actually the 1J he gave him to try the kit out on.he now has it completely finished at home.pm him,he can really give you a 1st hand opinion on it & maybe show you some pics of it finished
  15. wow, nice job on the kit & instructions.you can really see that you spent alot of time with the details on this.is that andy's donor 1J in your instructions? i can't wait to see your 1D kit next time i visit andy.your custom skills make me wish i had a spare valk to convert
