  1. Bought the Blu Ray, watched the movie and enjoyed it. I found it was actually better and less cheesie than the first movie. Never read the book so don't care for comparisons or accuracies. It wouldn't win any awards for story or originality, but over all it was a fun watch.
  2. Don't really like lens flare, but it is better than shakey cam. Though at the moment the "in thing" is probably 3D which dosen't work on me, makes me feel left out with all these new "3D movies" coming out in cinema
  3. Yeah, not sure how to explain it, it's either a navy/ military thing, not just original series but also the later shows too. Just a feeling that apart from the enterprise and her crew, you get a sense of the huge backdrop and organisation behind them too. In the new trek, even though we know its the federation and all, it just felt empty, just a bunch of kids rushed through school and straight into action. Reboots are fine, but i can't see why they couldn't have just made it a true reboot, without the time travel babble or over writing the old.
  4. I enjoyed the reboot star trek movie, but it didn't really feel like a trek movie. To me the old trek had a navy/ military or happy fleet kind of feeling to it. I didn't get that impression in the new one, instead it felt like a mix of high school drama with fancy gadgets. Also found that its was too bright or white and too much lens flare which i find annoying.
  5. Been playing this since it first came out, never really stopped playing since, it has improved a lot with all the updates. I have three characters now, 2 Feds and a klingon, all tactical officers. I joined a really great and freindly fleet, thats the main reason i have managed to keep playing this game, we always seem to be doing stuff and we never really experienced any periods of inactivity. Now the game is F2p we recruited many new players too My fleet is called "Maquis Vanguard"
  6. Another gundam show? I've lost track, I'll just stick to UC stuff.
  7. I didn't like Liara much in the games, but the statue does looks quite nice, even if it dosen't look like her.
  8. I've checked my first edition VF 0S and YF19, there's no damage and no stress marks. Considering I've not played or transformed them that often, that maybe why they're still ok. I have alot of Gundam models too, some over 10 years old, they seem ok. My CM Miria figure is fine too. As I mentioned earlier i think the climate in certain countires may have played a part in the plastic breaking. If i remember correctly, Graham lives in Hong Kong, which can be very warm and sunny, Scotland is always dull and not warm at all. Either that or my toys came from a good batch (hopefully) and the broken ones came from a batch when someone was slacking off at the factory. So with any luck, I hope i don't encounter any of the problems.
  9. I agree with this, there will always be people who are purist, but if they enjoyed the book, then stick with it, its not going to change and its always going to be there to be enjoyed. Movies are never going to be 100% true to the source material.
  10. I've not read the book, meaning I have no right to judge it, so I wasn't saying it was rubbish or anything. Just saying I enjoyed the first movie for what it is, over the top cheesey action. If the movie was called something else, I would still enjoy it.
  11. I've always thought the creator of Macross was by two people, Shoji Kawamori and Haruhiko Mikimoto. While the mechas were very well designed, the thing i love and remember the most about the show was the characters.
  12. Very worrying to hear the toys breaking, i own a 1st release YF 19 and a 1st release VF 0s, I bought them when they first came out. So far I've had no problems at all, though i've never transformed my VF0s before, but my YF19 has been displayed in batroid mode for a few years. I think it was only last year when i transformed it back to display it as a fighter and it as remained in that mode ever since. I'm gonna have to check them after reading this thread. I was thinking maybe the climate in some countries affect the plastic, my country isn't really that warm so maybe that is a factor.
  13. I enjoyed the first movie, it was so over the top, cheesey and funny. The other two movies where crap, though part 3 was a big improvement from the 2nd one. I've never read the book, i've seen the anime ova, which I found quite boring and wasn't that exciting to watch. I'm actually looking forward to seeing this new movie, but i probably wouldn't go to the the cinema to see it, I'll wait for the DVD release.
  14. http://startrekonline.com/f2p_features They've put up some stuff at what to expect when the game goes f2p. Alot of life time subcribers are complaining, I'm alright with most of it since i've had my life time since the start, i guess its less painful for me than players who may have purchased a life time later on. Getting paid 400 C-points a month is something to look forward to, that is if the C store has got stuff i want. But it really does mean i don't have to pay anything ever again to play or in C-store and that is something i'm happy with.
  15. It's just terrible whats happening in Japan , watching it on the news in the UK, it seems so unreal at first and with the rising death toll its just too horrible.
