Why? Are they making MF toys?

True. I'd like to see that prototype in fighter mode for a more proper comparison.

No, I'm just buying so much more from Bandai than Arcadia because of their tool like release schedule. It's to their face because I know Bamdai is hammering them. I am all in for M&M releases though.

I really...really hope this doesn't open the door to a bunch of NUNS Hamaval repaints... my wallet and display space can only take so much!

I really hope not... the Havamal paint scheme was selectable for every non-character VF model in the game... that's a LOT of repaints.

Bamdai... Hammering... I like what you did there

I wouldn't mind seeing some VF-171 repaints from the game.. they had both a Gamlin and Millia scheme hidden in there. :)

I would buy both of those, a 171 in Red? Yes, I will take that all day long.

I'm so torn about this. May i ask: Do all YF-29 repaints have exactly the same heads? (Isamu aside)

Some cinematic pictures tell the opposite such as:

I prefer the original head as made for the actual toy and in the game

Both of those pics are of Isamu's 29.

Indeed but they depict a different antenna than in the rest of the game:

EDIT: perhaps it wasn't clear, but the point was to tell that Isamu's 29 can have a "standard" YF-29 head also, depending on the sources.

Aside from what has been mentioned, there is actually a slight difference between the Alto YF-29 head and 30th Anniversary head not too many people know about. If you look at the top of the head unit, you'll see 2 vulcan like projections on each side of the dorsal fin. On Alto's these are pointing in the same direction as the visor. On the 30th, it's pointing the other way.

I noticed these a long time ago and at first thought it was a mistake in the assembly. But after looking at several online pics, theirs are the same way too. Not sure if this is intentional or not in the design.

So as of the YF-29 releases available now, no 2 head units are exactly alike.

They got lazy and just palette swapped a regular 29 model for the cutscenes.

yeah, it is really hard to get white since we have a lot of variation of pink white, blue white :p

Still, I dont understand why it is called B since it is pretty much identical to Durandal.

yeah stuff that.. too much effort to color match..

They mark it as a "B" variant so people think its something new and or different and go buy it! but the truth is very different as we know.. but in saying that I will most likely buy one regardless! :p

Just checked and you are right. Great observation on the detail.

Hopefully not too soon as I would like it spaced out a bit. VF-0D is going to put a huge dent in the wallet and I am not sure whether I want to keep my preorder given the Aussie dollar have been falling.

Oh no, man! Hopefully not, it looks like an awesome piece too.
