bowzer1
Hello fellow Macross fans, For those who play the X-Plane flight simulator, I thought I'd share the Fanracer aircraft I built for X-Plane. I've been a Macross fan since it first aired and Hikaru's Fanracer has always been my favorite. The flight model is built in X-Plane's built-in "plane maker" tool, but the 3D model is built with Blender (an open source 3D modeler). Although not 100% complete, the cockpit is loosely based on the line-art but I took some liberties on some design elements for functionality and personal preference. The aircraft is free to download in the link below. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=22759 Enjoy, feedback is welcome. Thanks, -dp-

Chronocidal
Very nice! I might have to take a look at X-Plane again one of these days. I didn't realize X-Plane can actually take visual models made in other programs. The lack of free-form airframe modeling was one thing that always turned me off to X-Plane, as compared with what FSX can do. What formats does the aircraft maker take as input? spanner
thats very cool! I wouldn't mind giving it a go but pity I never got into X-Plane.. Too much invested in FSX sadly.. Edited March 1, 2015 by spanner76
