  1. well, with people starting to move into High Definition TV's... (aka my parents ) and my finding out that a DVD is not high definition at all. i'm wondering since they redigitized/cleanedup/made pretty the series and DYRL if they are going to be eventually offered in high defininition? can you guys shed some light on the posibility of this? they can do that right? it's not like Star Wars where Lucas supposedly recorded over the originals? so they can give it to us still? but prettier in a couple years?
  2. that's the just the word i was looking for. epic. to me, macross has always had this epic scale to it, like a space opera should be. But the content we have been given (aside from original series) is rather, non-epic. the short ova's just don't seem enough. i had more of that feeling watching Macross II compared to Macross Zero or Plus. Maybe it was just me seeing the SDF-1 again, but i felt the history. Like what i'm watching was part of something larger, something connected. I never felt that with Zero or Plus. they seemed like tiny stories set in the macross universe, but not stories about the universe. i know it's rather vague on my part, but does anybody understand what i'm saying? also, when i started this thread, i guess what i should have asked was what about the supervision army? origins? their fight with the zentradi? the creation of the zentradi? the meltran? zentradi hierarchy etc... there is just so much content i couldn't get sick of it.
  3. i've seen mac+. i like the story. but it's a short. it's not a full blown series. i haven't seen mac7 or any of its iterations, it's on my list of things to watch, but it also looks super cheesy so it really low on my priorities list and always gets pushed back. Maybe it'll give me a huge dose of macross goodness? who knows. But from the reviews i've seen for it here, i don't really have high hopes for it. watched and loved DYRL. i haven't seen Flashback 2012. can't find it anywhere online. wouldn't be on those imacross servers would they? still nothing really compares to the original series does it?
  4. i'm just wondering why macross has left rather large holes in the timeline? it's it rather odd to have a universe spanning several series/ova and yet seemingly still have such large blanks left for us? my history is rather sketchy, but why not supervision army stuff? from a story telling perspective, i would love to hear the rest of the story, everything they haven't told us. economically speaking, macross could have been a dominant player like gundam is today only if they only made more or it. in continuity... less one offs. and more often. maybe i'm wrong to compare it to the popularity of gundam. but macross is "forgotten" not dead right? so why not just a full on series? not enough money to be made? not enough support now? just thought i'd mine you guys for opinions
  5. ouch. 70 usd? wow. i never knew it was that much. i didn't know it was that rare or demand was that high. good thing i asked before i bought it on ebay. thanks guys thanks guys. i'll see what i can dig up.
  6. i think i've finally scraped together enough money to actually spend some. and i'm looking into getting DYRL. i think i remember this being mentioned before... but i'm not too sure... the best DYRL version out there is the Macross Movie Do You Remember Love - Perfect Edition right? so those would be these? http://search.ebay.ca/search/search.dll?so...prclo=&saprchi= are they legit? or bootlegs? and i also remember somebody posting a subtitle plugin for a DYRL DVD? is that for this version or something else entirely? thanks guy...
  7. hey hey... just for to help fill me in cause of my newbness what are joke machines? re: the SD Figs that Jenius posted, what series they from?
  8. here here... model gallery page... and have his work saved w/ all the writeups too...
  9. this is my suggestion. don't use gundam markers. use sakura microperm pens instead http://www.draftingsupplies.us/sakura_microperm.htm they are WAY thinner than any gundam marker i've seen. and they flow better. they're also archival quality so they won't fade or yellow your plastic so for panel lines, they will actually fit in the crack...
  10. whoa. prometheum, i just noticed that you post here too
  11. i wonder if i get to count as one of these new gen macross types too... i'm 22 and i've only gone through 6 of the 9 discs... don't forget that there will be HORDES of new anime watchers in the next 5 years when it starts to boom in the states... this will probably be on the best times for a macross resurgence right?
  12. yeah, very folksongish. i heard that song for the first time just a while back, and it's like i've known the song all my life.
  13. what's the aile pack? when you say "aile" i'm thinking fins and big ones at that...
  14. ok. guys... i'm still a newb when i comes to this site, but a: if he doesn't wanna do up his site, that's his perogative. b: if he doesn't wanna let you right click. that too is his issue. too bad for you if you can't find away around it c: i like his stuff. i hope he's not too pissed off to drop down the updates. a couple months back his site seemed pretty organized and fairly professional. and honestly, i'd rather have tidbits and have nothing at all. and his water marking images is just his way of protecting all the work that went into scanning that stuff... it's not that he claims to own them. it's just saying that he went through the trouble of scanning it up for us. the other communities i participate in are battletech sites, and there's a lot more of the copywrite stuff when it comes to images, especially when it comes to peoples painted miniatures. as yellowlight man said. It's his site man, he can do whatever the hell he wants to do with it. i too think that he would have once of the best macross sites out there if he would just leave the stuff up. but i too don't finish my pages and just screw around with them... he can too if he wants. nanashi, i hope that you're not too pissed off at a few to have it spoil for the rest of us. - ron
  15. toys. i'm a mecha person and i've got a younger bro who is just about 6 introduced him to mecha with toys and pictures and short video clips from the net for battletech... and he can recognize stuff... heck, if it were ok by my parents, i'd have shown him macross by now, but he's not supposed to watch the same crap that i do so yeah, pictures and stuff young... maybe even the series once he's able to sit through hour long movies and such...
