WINTER WONDER FESTIVAL 2007

MISCELLANEOUS MACROSS KITS

Here's some of the various Macross resin garage kits and Macross resin conversion parts that were on display at this years Einter Wonder Festival

First of all, a resin VF-19P (Dynamite 7) fighter mode conversion kit for use on the Bandai 1/144 scale VF-19Kai fighter mode plastic model kit. I've always been a sucker for the VF-19P. Sorry, I don't know the name of the company making this kit.

Next a tiny fully variable VF-1S Strike and VF-1J resin kit by Betch. These kits have been on sale and display at Wonder Festival for the past few years. The kit is really small and fiddly and held together by tine metal pins and what appeared to be cotton thread holding on the heatshield! The guy at the booth asked me to try if I could transform it, and I did, but it was extemely floopy with no locking tabs to help hold it together,

Here we have some custom resin and metal conversion parts for use with Hasegawa 1/72 scale Macross kits. Unfortunately, I didn't get the name of this company, but Noel (Blackaces) might know, as they have been selling at Wonder Festival for several years.

Amongst the items they had on display were: -

Next up we have the preassembled 1/100 scale YF-21 resin garage kit by Experten, that sold for ¥38,000 a piece. As far as I know, this was sculpted by Akira Sakuragawa, formally of Liquid Stone and before that IHP. I'm not sure how many of these were on sale, it would have been between 10 to 20 pieces, but by the time Macrossworld member SaveRobotech and myself go to the Experten booth, they were already sold out. Luckily, there were still 2 peices on display that while not for sale, were were allowed to take photos of.

Here's a perennial Wonder Festival favourite, the stylised VF-1 'aiming pose' Battroid mode resin garage kits that Toynami based their Super Poseble toy sculpt on. Just for the record, these kits have been around since at least the year 2000, when they were featured in an issue of Hobby Japan magazine.

Last up, here's the highly stylised YF-19 Battroid mode resin garage it that's been on display at Wonder Festival for the last 2-3 years. Again, I didn't catch the name of the people making this (terrible with names aren't I?)!

There were a few other Macross itmes that I negected to take photos of, as follows: -

Next up, the CM's Corporation Legioss and Tread prototypes.
